Staff were great and restaurant was really busy. Tables are on top of each other so not much privacy. Food was tasty but basic and music was turned up and down to suit the tastes of the staff. Not much to shout about hence the...rating.More

A real delight to find authentic dishes, nicely cooked & seasoned. Really good Octopus dish. Excellent Goat. Achard. The real deal.

We've been to La Charette Creole twice for both the food and the atmosphere. On this latest visit, I had the octopus stew and my wife had the curry chicken, both of which were excellent. The service is very casual and you almost feel like...you're a guest in someone's home. You definitely get the feeling that this is a family run business. The proprietor makes a point of coming out and greeting every customer and I had a very interesting conversation with him about his experiences running the restaurant.More

The owner is a charmer who welcomes , hugs, blesses, feeds, advises & loves you at first sight! So is the food! The place is quiet with lots of locals ( which is always a good sign) !

We got there early on Monday evening and the place was nearly empty and quiet. To us it looked and sounded "Caribbean" but with an East African island menu: perhaps a mixture of Indian and African. The assorted appetizer platter was excellent as was the...prawns in coconut milk served with red beans and rice. Mauratian beer was a good drink to have with it. Complimentary watermelon and a rum liquor ended the meal. Service was efficient and friendly.More

Dropped in here as it was near hotel and was too tired to go any further after arriving in Paris I wish I hadn't bothered and went to bed hungry. I wouldn't go back if it was the only place open in Paris.

Stumbled across this place while wandering about in Montparnasse and what a fun evening! The atmosphere & music lively and busy with lots of locals. The staff adopted us and recommended the food- v good creole shrimp curry and rice followed by coconut ice cream...to die for. Complimentary liquor was fierce and there was lots of laughing, hugging and photos. The owner and staff were utterly charming and service could not be faulted. If you are looking for something a bit different and are prepared to enter into the spirit of things it's a fun evening. It won't suit the more stuffy or reserved so go with the flow.More

Had a dinner there one evening, as the restaurant was near our hotel. What an experience! Service was sooo bad - and fortunately good. There was one skinny waitress that was indescribable! Let me try: she was rude, boastful, vulgar, obnoxious etc... so by the...end of the day she was just trying to get attention and was sad to watch. Other staff was nice and kind. We had a good seafood dinner there with good appetizers and some good (and stong!) drinks! If your order espresso for coffee, don't be dissapointed, as it is a normal coffee with an extra flavour. The price level was good - maybe because they don't give you the receipt. Their receipt is a piece of "official looking paper". That didn't bother us - this time.More

Loved La Charrette Creole. First experience with Indian Ocean island food and was so impressed with the quality freshness and variety. The staff at the restaurant were super friendly funny and helpful.
