Yes this isn't the most chic area of Paris, but it's defiantly worth the detour.
I ate here with a friend who is the master of cheap, but good places to eat and I cannot recommend it enough.
Admittedly I'm no expert on Thai food,...More

We had lunch here as it was recommended in our travel guide, and we were not disappointed. The food was really fresh and tasty! Shared a spring roll as a starter and then had lovely phad thai with prawns and royal chicken curry. The place...More
Great Thai food (although the 'lao' in the restaurant name suggests that Lao food is served here as well, I could not find it at the menu) in the ever lively Rue de Belleville. Come early (restaurant opens at 19.00 and was full by 19.30)!...More
Located around Belleville, the second chinese neighborhood in Paris, this restaurant offers a good quality. However, there are not many possibilities for vegetarians. I took Path Thai and Kangkung. The first one was indeed goo, similar quality like Path thai we can get in Khaosan...More
This place was recommended to me by a business partner. Although everybody in Paris eats dinner late, I highly recommend to show up early (6-7 PM) in order to avoid the line that is getting longer and longer with every hour! The menu (that comes...More

make sure you have a reservation. It was crowded when we got there and still crowded when we left. I really liked the whole crab dish. Never seen before on the menu in Asian restaurants in Belgium. My wife her dish was however a bit...More
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one
street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
