After a long flight to Paris, we checked in and this was our first meal as it was near our hotel. Ordered a beef cheek, can't remember what my partner ordered. I would say food is average, many Parisians frequent this place.

Very well decorated, good food. it really seems a place made of friends and regular costumers, but we don't feel strangers in there. As a foreigner, I think the service could be better. It was a bit rushed and cold. It's also a place a bit noisy when full. Worth the visit.

A safe bet, we usually visit this restaurant every time we visit Paris. The onion soup is great, so is the molleux au chocolate

Les Editeurs is a charming bar situated in St Germain. I used to frequent it regularly in the mid 1990s and I am happy to report to my readers that it has not changed inside, it is still atmospherically stacked with books and elegant lamps, with the obvious faux art Deco appeal that it is renowned for. I always like... More

This centrally located resto offers french and asian-french cuisine. We went there for lunch, tried the Thai salad and one of the specials, rice and curry lamb, as well as wine and espressos. The food was very good, as well as the wine. Overall we had a good time among the locals. Most restos in this area offer english menus,... More

We found this place after an hour of arriving to Paris, it was about 9 and new year's eve and we thought they will not admit us as we didn't have a reservation. They did although they gave us till 10.30 as they had a second serving at that time. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty.... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
