Whenever in Paris, it's always fun to seek out authentic restaurants. By "authentic", I mean establishments not trying to please a tourist's palate, rather, staying true to the roots of the French approach to food. Le Petite Pontoise is such a place. In the Latin Quarter (5th), the small, but not too small, bistro is comfortable and welcoming. The menu... More

On our last night in Paris, we wanted a meal that would make the whole family happy. However, my children do not like rich French food, while I wanted foie gras. Thankfully, we all managed to find food that we enjoyed at this little bistro. The homemade foie gras starter with figs was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The bread was warm and... More

This establishment has certainly known better days. Great location, away from the tourist alleys, on a small street. Food was good, but on the unimpressive side, not to the expectations of the previous reviews. Service was excellent though, unpretentious.

We visited for an early dinner on our first night in Paris and were very pleased with the quality of food and service. Our meals arrived pretty quickly for Parisienne standards (probably because we were so early at 6:30) and were beautifully prepared and presented. I had the scallops which were perfectly cooked in a white wine and garlic sauce... More

Staying in a boutique hotel close by, some friends recommended this restaurant to my husband and I. So glad we followed their advice. This restaurant exceeded our expectations. The food was simply amazing.....you know it's good when you try your hardest not to swallow!! We sat out on the street and soaked in our last moments of beautiful Paris, eating... More

Monday, July 18th 2016 was a very warm day in Paris. By the time of our 21:00 dinner reservation it was still quite warm outside. The outdoor tables were full so we sat inside and "toughed out" the heat(No AC like many places). All 3 of us were very happy with the food. My wife had the classic Sole Meuniere;... More

I had many fantastic meals here with friends. The food was amazing, really tasty and for Paris not that expensive for the quality that you get. The service is also exceptional. I have not a single complaint for this restaurant. Looking forward to my next visit!

This was one of the best meals I've had in Paris. Everything had a brightness and freshness with a ton of flavor. I had the shrimp roti, followed by kidneys in mustard sauce and my wife had the pigeon. The sauces were light and elegant. Perfect renditions of creme brule and Tarte Tartin for dessert as well. My one complaint... More

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas.
