What a find... It was 11pm and we were starved after a tour in Paris. We were told to walk a few blocks to a restaraunt that would be open, it was not and nothing we walked by was open... Then we came upon the STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL HISTORIC, Le Grand Cafe Capucines, ( located around the corner from the Opera... More

Me and my family visited the Le Grand Cafe in August 2016. The interior was beautiful with french style elements around - just what we were hopping to see! We have ordered some oysters, snails and a cheese platter. As well as a bottle of absolutely delicious rose. The seafood was very fresh and deliciously cooked. However, when the waiter... More

My son kept begging to go back to the restaurant that had the " the thing with eggs" and I couldn't figure out what he was talking about until he found a card he had kept from his previous visit. Turns out he wanted the Creme Brulee LOL!!! This restaurant is in a great location and we always sit by... More

Attended this restaurant on 21/8/16. Sunday night and the place was fairly full. The service was good and food was provided promptly. The interior of the building is lovely and proper old fashioned brasserie style. The food was lovely but the portions were very small and the meal was quite expensive. Within half hour of Leaving we were hungry again... More

Was really looking forward to great Paris menu only to get rushed service, fatty steak that was inedible, cold bernaise sauce precooked French fries that looked terrible. They couldn't even cook my steak as requested. Seafood platter big mistake ridiculous price simply thawed & placed on crushed ice. No cooking or technique involved in the kitchen, tasted bland. Waiter poured... More

We joined our tour group at this traditional French restaurant for a farewell dinner. Great food: onion soup and beef, salad and fish were all excellent. It is rare (no pun intended) to find such tender beef in European restaurants. The green mousse dessert was odd: it tasted like shampoo! Three sweet tarts made up for it.

Enjoyed the food and the service was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Would recommend you to book as otherwise the restaurant is quite hot inside with no air conditioning. Watch out for mosquitos in the summer. Overall enjoyable

I was alone and took a chair looking into the street and the sidewalk at lunchtime. I love doing this when I am alone. The mixture of people walking in front of you and the discussions at tables nearby will keep you busy and entertained throughout what can be a delightful lunch. It was a warm lunchtime, many tourists with... More

A farewell dinner for our tour group at this restaurant was a highlight. Snails, of course, are a must, and they did not disappoint. The garlic and herb sauce was exquisite, and the snails in their shells, with proper tongs and forks is something you do not find in French restaurants in Australia. My choice of sea bream was very... More

This restaurant located next to the Plaza des Operass in Paris has amazing seafood platters. It has a lovely art deco interiors with outdoor seating on the street. The service was friendly and attentive.

The restaurant's refined decor is a faithful illustration of the Art Nouveau style, with its original mosaics and its crystal Saint-Louis chandeliers a truly Parisian institution located on the Place des Ternes. The head chef prepares a refined, traditional French cuisine using the freshest ingredients. An immensely popular restaurant with both Parisians and discerning tourists, who appreciate beautifully prepared food.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
