This was a great find for us. The food and service were excellent. My boyfriend and I both sampled the special of the day: duck for me, and salmon for him. The food was perfectly cooked. The staff were excellent, answering our questions about the menu and the restaurant. The restaurant is small, giving a nice intimate spot for dinner.... More

This very nice and quiet place, good food and friendly personnel. Try the dish from the menu of the day, the roasted such is delicious.

We found this through a travel magazine. The atmosphere was delightful. Simple and understated, yet very French in the feel. The staff was warm, Antoine spoke English well and was patient with our partial French. I had Veal- perfectly prepared, my friend had the salmon over spicy carrots. Again perfect. Wine list will satisfy the most picky. We went with... More

It was my first visit to Le Gorille Blanc. I really enjoyed it. The menu is uncomplicated, but appealing. It fits a perfect bistro category. The space is stone walled, warm, charming. However, the best part of the evening was the friendly, warm service provided by the servers. You don't see that alot in Paris, and this was quite an... More

This has been an interesting trip from the perspective of being able to observe my fellow Americans. My wife, Mrs. Sothoth, speaks fluent French, so we are able to fly under the radar a bit. Our Bastille Day lunch was in company with a number of compatriots who don't even make an effort to say "bonjour." We are a loud... More

Le Gorille Blanc is a typical French restaurant where we have been several times. The menu offers simple traditional dishes of good quality. The restaurant is nice and has a peaceful (and small) terrace. The service is friendly and attentive.

One of my best meals in Paris, these guys coped well with our group of 8 noisy Australians. With one french speaker on the table, our waiter was extremely helpful with explaining dishes in charming broken english. All meals were excellent, tasty, in classic french style with a little twist. If you don't want a whole bottle of wine but... More

Nice restaurant with very friendly staff. We had the duck and the rabbit, both very good dishes. Excellent bottle of wine and service. Cheesecake for desert was ok but a little disappointing compared to the rest of the evening.

We walked in at 7:30 on a Wednesday and were able to get a table - it didn't seem to get busy until 9pm. The staff were warm and helpful. We shared the lentil soup with duck bacon chips - fabulous! I had the special lamb with sweet potato dish - very well done. My husband tried the Boudin Noir... More

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
