This restaurant is famous for its sea food, but they make the best omelette I've ever had too. Nice upscale restaurant for a special occasion.

One of the very best fish restaurants in Paris, authentic old, French style. This is not a tourist place and the guest are almost all French. If you speak a little French go there, you will not be disappointed! Especially 'les fruit de mere' is really good and fresh!

This is a restaurant I have been coming to for the last twenty-five years at least. It has no equal in a country of excellent fish restaurants. Its closest runner-up was the now-diffunct Le Divellec, which passed into the hands of a low-grade chain of restaurants. Le Duc soars in the simple, tasteful way it handles fish and coquilliage, never... More

Was invited by a long standing client of this place, to an excellent lunch of great fish dishes especially their raw fish. Nice old place, an institution amongst those in the know in Paris.

Our first night in Paris, we decided to have dinner close to our Airbnb apartment. We each ordered something different and everything was delicious! The host and waiters were as nice as they could be. I'm not sure where the idea that French people are rude to Americans because we did not experience that at all anywhere in France and... More

I worked in the area and I always wondered why they were always fancy cars waiting outside this place. First of all, it's a super Parisian place, small venue, tables next to each other and just OK service. The food itself is actually quite good. My favorites were the Tuna as entree and the Sole Meunière. The desserts need definitely... More

Very good food, appetizers were excellent. Service was decent, usual french style. But it was worth putting up with it. Expensive, but good value for money.

I liked the ambiance. A nice, Parisian cafe that was half-full at 1 p.m. when we arrived. The waiters were semi patient. The main waiter warmed to us as I tried out my junior high school French, but was impatient with my sister for being slow to figure out what she wanted. After ordering, the wait staff was attentive enough... More

This is not an elaborate over the top restaurant but if you want out of this world fish. This is the place. The dishes are not over done or overly fancy but truly delicious. The servings were quite large for a French restaurant. My plate of Langustines was huge and I ate every last morsel. The service was very nice.... More

Firstly, we asked for an English menu but they only had a French menu so we thought it was ok since one of the waiters offered his collegue to come and translate the menu for us and it was not a pleaseant experience. The waiter only mentioned the different fishes that were being offered and he never mentioned what they... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
