We ate there tonight. I had John Dory, which was wonderful. Others had delicious fish soup and fresh oysters. Our servers were terrific. It is expensive.

Excellent fish and seafood, fresh and cooked with finesse. Lovely interior. The millefeuile was absolutely sumptuous.

Got talked down from the grand seafood platter and wished I hadn't listened to the waiter. Set the menus down thinking, well, we can just get a little something else. Finished the seafood, which to be fair was quite good. Some little horny-shelled things were...More

The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the
landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that
goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas,

from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and

I know what you're talking about. I had the same experience when I asked the female bartender at Le Dome if they had a menu in English. She was very rude to me. This place does not like Americans. I also went across the street to the Lebar A Huitres and had a great meal. When I asked them if they had a menu in English they responded with "Why of course we do please come in right this way." They treated me great and I returned the next day as well and left big tips both days for the great service I received from them. I honestly think the best thing going for Lebar A Huitres is the very rude and lousy staff at Le Dome. I have read so many reviews where the staff at Le Dome so rudely treated potential customers that the customers left and went across the street. How can blame them?

Outdoors, on the terrace, you can dress up like Big Bird, and no one would notice. But in the evening, inside Le Dome for dinner or drinks, and at all other better cafes, there is a subtle, informal code that discourages... More
