Been numerous times and it just gets better, the food delicious, the staff helpful, I always come here when in paris and always good timing if the fixe prix meal is on as it's amazing. Well done Yves and team, the hotel is just as good.

We enjoyed a tasty dinner on the heated patio of Le Comptoir. We didn't have a reservation so we went early (7 pm) and were seated on the patio. The service is extremely attentive and friendly. We were served our drinks within minutes of ordering them. Both my partner and I enjoyed our meals immensely; but we also had good... More

We are often disappointed when eating in this touristic area because value for money is often on the poor side. The Comptoir has a new owner and what a discovery. We were there for lunch, and had a very delicious traditional French food; both the fish dish and the duck were perfect and the Brandade was excellent. The place is... More

The day I had lunch coincided with the day the Michelin stars came out. Two different camera crews came here to film for their news report. I was underwhelmed by the food (two dishes that were too salty and unremarkable) and the service and the space. Mangetout is just down the street and is very much the better choice. A... More

Although we were had the intention to go to Avant Comptoir, the one next to it, it was a really pleasent experience. We had snails, a platter of cheese, lamb and beef cheeks and 1L of the red house wine. The last two came like a stew, lots of condiments and tastes, and very nice sauce to dip you amazing... More

This was one of my favourite places in Paris, but now I won't be going back. My (French speaking) friend has a serious nut allergy & he alerted the waiter when we sat down. His starter came out & was covered in pesto. He checked to see if it contained nuts & the answer was a definitive 'no'. After one... More

We came to this restaurant for lunch- we did not have reservations and arrived at 2PM and there was one table available for us to sit. While they were apologetic that it was a corner sit, we found it charming! We had an amazing lunch, house wine, and cheese plate. We could tell a lot of locals were here for... More

I've been coming to this wonderful restaurant for years. It is a particular favorite. At lunch, one orders à la carte. I've never been disappointed. Show up when they open at noon to be assured a table. Some favorites include the lobster bisque which is much lighter than the typical bisque I've had elsewhere. The carré d'agneau (rack of lamb)... yes you may have to wait in line for lunch but what an amazing lunch, my fav place in Paris, plenty of specials everyday makes this a place to visit more then once on a single trip in Paris especially if you stay close by PS dinner is a bargain but the tasting menu (the food is very good) makes... We are two experienced 'foodies' and live in Paris. We went for lunch. We got there at 11:30 to get a table and stand in line- as usual. I asked if we could at least sit down, seeing it was empty and no one was waiting we were very rudely told NO. Nice.... So we waited for them to allow... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
