Just eat here. It's relaxed, but fantastic. There's a hustle and bustle of metropolitan city life, the echoes of all different walks of life sharing tales over wine or coffee and all complimented by food that - although appearing unfussy - has been as carefully thought about and cared for as you would your own children. No pretension and a... More

This was our fifth visit to this noisy, crowded, boisterous, small bistro. The staff is always brusque, and the food is always superb. On our last visit, there was a fixed menu, which was not necessarily to a non-gourmet's taste. But we loved it. Excellent fish, fine fowl, great wine, good dessert. The cheese tray was out of sight. Always... More

We were afraid to try it after reading how difficult it was to get in, but decided to walk by on a Sunday afternoon around 3. To our great delight, available tables and no lines. We had a most amazing lunch, I could navigate the menu which is in French. We shared a foie gras terrine which was amazing. I... More

We were there for a dinner, it was just perfect, the food looks great, the wines are perfect and the atmosphere was pretty good. We all took different meals and IT was all GREAT. Perhaps is a bit pricy, however is kind of normal if you considere you are having dinner in one of the best bistros of Paris.

There's a reason why this place is always busy with people lining for miles to get a table. The food is authentic French without all the modern pretentiousness that other restaurants get. The beef cheek with macaroni is to die for as is the very simple sliced orange with grand marnier.. The menu is in French, but if you tell... More

We found this place quite by chance and what an excellent find! Very cool concept. We were drawn in by the unusual doorway. Oysters were located within view of street. Long bar, NUMEROUS wines sold by the class, all with prices written directly on the bottles. Only a couple of tables at the back; this place is meant to be... More

From start to finish, just brilliant! The bread was amazing (yes we were in France) we did have to ask for butter; cultural thing. The butter was the best I've ever had in my life (made locally in Paris) grains of salt melting with each bite. App was lovely seared tuna. Our MAINS! Outstanding! Mum had the rack of lamb.... More

This was a very fortunate opportunity to have lunch in a very popular place. We arrived in Paris and checked into our flat around the corner from the restaurant, stopped off at an ATM to get some Euros and noticed that they were going to open for lunch in about 15 minutes. We waited in a short line (that rapidly... More

There are more than 23,000 restaurants in Paris and this one has a line! And the French DO NOT DO LINES. Which tells you how remarkable this place is. Just delicious food that even your kids will eat at reasonable prices with friendly service at the center of the 6th. We went back after nine years and it was just... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
