Excellent service👍food intricately prepared with lots of love and passion. If one person chooses the degustation menu, everyone must go with the same one, pity cos it would have been nice if there was more flexibility given that everything on the menu are quite susbtainly priced. Maybe it's for the kitchen's convenience but most of the modern restaurants are becoming... More

From the moment we walked in the staff were unwelcoming. I'm not of the belief that fine dining equals stuffy and stuck up, but that's what you get. This place is hyped so I imagine plenty of foodies feel the need to say how amazing it is through fear of belittlement from their peers - but put simply this restaurant... More

The staff made a huge effort to make us, two non-French speakers, welcome for dinner. Hospitable, warm, thoughtful service from everyone, with excellent guidance on the menu and wine selection. We ordered the lower cost Signature menu. The food was extraordinary - an artichoke soup served with the freshest prawn a particular highlight. The bread and butter deserves a review... More

It lends itself to be a fine dining restaurant but falls short by Parisian standards. Service was very disappointing: empty wine glasses needing a pour, amuse bouche taken while perusing the wine list, needed to be reminded about the truffle (they were highlighting) for the main dish. Our waiter sensed that the staff dropped the ball. He asked if it... More

During our recent trip to Paris the concierge in our hotel recommended La Truffiere to us for a romantic dinner. We were greeted heartily and the waitstaff was quick to show us to the cellar room. We had specifically asked the concierge to book us into the upstairs room, and after insisting, we were placed there. We had an aperitif... More

This was my fifth occasion dining at La Truffière and this last was just as enjoyable as previous ones. We get so much attention and besides the items ordered, we are always delighted with little entremets right up to désert. Of course if you're into truffles, you will not be disappointed. This Michelin star restaurant offers impeccable preparation and presentation;... More

Just everything about the meal was disappointing. The sommelier rolling his eyes at me when I said I only wanted to spend €250 for a bottle of wine was the first sign it was going to be an unpleasant meal. We were ignored for long periods of time by the staff and even when we asked for something it seemed... More

Truly good restaurant with an impeccably professional staff. Great food and very nice wine list. On our visit our credit card company wouldn't accept the charge fearing fraud, but the staff handled this faux pas discretely and exceedingly professionally.

The black truffle macaroon was memorable. The snails were among the best I've had. However, mushrooms were undercooked. The duck was chewy, even though it was quite pink. Just not very good choice of the duck ingredient I guess. Dishes had very good presentation, but the food was not spetacular. Service was average for this type of restaurant. It was... More

Went yet again to eat here for their lunchtime menu (3 courses 40€). Their are several more expensive menus. The wine is also very expensive minimum 10€ a glass.Food is very imaginative, but VERY small portions - which I like. Pleasant quiet atmosphere, and excellent service. New chef is japonese I believe ! Next to Place de la Contescarpe, metro... More

Description
"The kitchen is a place which gets together women and men, wine-growers, market gardeners, fishermen, farmers, all passionate about their trade and customers looking for authenticity. It is our constant challenge to dress, accommodate, cook, and present a coherent "cuisine" inspired by various experiences and meetings. This is how our team invite you to share this moment with honesty and a warm welcome." Christophe Poard, chef de cuisine

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
