The big problem here is the expectation and the letdown. This resturant has been on my bucket list for years and I was let down. Understandm there is nothing wrong with Tour 'dArgent. It is a very nice old dining establishment with a wine list heavier then me. You go here for the numbered duck. Why the duck needs to... More

Put on your best Saville Row suit, have your lady beak out the Chanel and pearls because THIS is where you wear them for that perfect lunch overlooking the city. You know you MUST order the pressed duck, pressed just for you in front of you in the most elegant silver duck press. You duck is so special it even... More

We were told by a friend to try this restaurant and he was absolutely right. The preparation of the food and its presentation were excellent. The staff was very attentive and very fluent in English. Both our meals were delicious and we will be sure to dine here again on our next visit to Paris.

Right off I will tell you in cost us €950.00 for 3 people with the second cheapest bottle of wine, €160.00. The wine BOOK is enormous and all in French. That price incl. 2 appetizers incl foie gras that serves 2 and 3 desserts. Pricey to say the least, especially when good wine in Paris costs less than water! That... More

I went there with 3 other friends. We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne on the house. We order their speciality which is the duck for myself and one other person while the other 2 went for the Wagyu for the entree. Excellent views and lovely setting. An incredible wine list but the food was good but not as... More

Highly over rated, way past its time, duck centric restaurant that offers an extensive and expensive wine list. If you are rich and have more money to waste, you can also buy souvenirs of your visit in their gift shop. You pay a lot for the brand name, for the location, the view, and for the (dis)pleasure of being served... More

Tour d’Argent is a classic high-end restaurant in Paris, a must to visit if you enjoy the special services of a Michelin star establishment. We found it to be just as good as always, the wine list is an experience in itself, as thick as a big Bible and the content has some great finds among a very comprehensive selection... More

This famous restaurant, well known world wide, is so far from being the icon of the French cuisine, as before. So expensive, disappointing service, average food. Needs absolutely a fresh change

Yes, the pressed duck is worth the visit, and the view is idyllic. Take the elevator up, relax, enjoy, take your time. Stroll along the Seine afterwards.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
