I found this place to be exceptional. Great food without a lot of fluff, fancy, or bullcrap. This is downhome french cooking. Maybe a bit more tourists than locals... but full endorsement for a wonderful meal. I had the chicken and rice; my wife ate...More

Proper French cuisine. I ate the chicken with morrel mushrooms and my husband had the Poule Au Pot. Really good honest local food. Worth a visit.

We stayed in Paris for two nights in the Republique area and stupidly left it until the last minute to find places to eat. Obviously we used trip advisor to find the closest places to us open late as it was around 10:30pm. La Poule...More

My wife recommended the restaurant to me, so I made my way over for dinner one night, and wasn't disappointed! The menu is typically French, although their claim to fame is the Poule au Pot, which my wife thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the steak au...More

I have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world. Sometimes they live up to their reputation and sometimes they don't. This restaurant however, offered a new experience. The tables were jammed in to such a degree that getting out from behind your...More

I'd have to agree with Mary Lou. It's a beautiful place with lovely food so if your children are of an age to appreciate it then it should be fine. Not really ideal for Toddlers or young babies.

Open all night from 7pm to 5am , you are welcome in an authentic 1930's restaurant where stands a beautiful old "zinc". Do not be surprised to meet international stars because the owner Paul Racat who looks after this Parisian institution has built a solid reputation.
