I was lucky enough to have mentioned to a friend that I would be in Paris on vacation. I use the term "lucky" because if I hadn't said something I wouldn't have known about La Cordonnerie and that would have been a shame. Even though there's an email address Chef Hugo doesn't accept reservations by email. You have to call...and... More

My husband and I had been wandering around the 1st, and stumbled upon what ended up being the best meal we had in Paris......and we had a lot of great meals'. Walked in around 9:30 PM and were seated quickly. My husband ordered the steak with shallot sauce and frites, and I had veal in a mushroom cream sauce. Both... More

My wife and I travel A LOT. We always schedule our vacations around places to eat and have eaten at some outstanding places in all our travels. This may have very well been the best meal we've ever had. It's a tiny little place, maybe 10 tables. Chef Claude is the man! He prepares everything right in front of him.... More

We visited the place this month. We were happy to sit watching the chef prepare our food. The foie grass was very good. The duck and beef too. We also loved the desserts. Would definitely go again when we visit in the future.

Arriving early--typical Americans that we are--we were seated across from the open kitchen with only a plexiglass wall separating us from the action. When I looked at my photos later, I understood more about how the chef produced a steady stream of complex plates brimming with delicious morsels: They were a blur! The tiny, two-man operation was just the chef... More

Don't try to book via their website. We thought we had booked for my birthday--- rec'd text confirmation -- we called when we arrived in Paris and were told we had no reservation even though they found our name. Very disappointing. Let you hotel do it for you!

This very small restaurant is excellent. We had a choice of eating in the kitchen or in an adjoining small room, which we chose fearing the kitchen might be too warm on that night. Even though the layout is small, one has a feeling of separation from other diners, unlike the experience of L'Ardoise (reviewed elsewhere). We very much enjoyed... More

We sat at the chef's table and were enthralled by his skills in the kitchen. We ordered beef steak, veal, lamb and they were all amazing. The sauces were so good we wanted to lick the plate.

All dressed up in an Alannah Hill dress and patent leather kitten heels ready to celebrate our first night in Paris this visit. Having booked on-line in advance and receiving a confirmation my heart sank when we arrived and our booking wasn't there. Jeremy was very helpful and suggested we come back in 20 minutes which we did and then... More

A true French delicious experience. My husband and I went and had dinner in a table next to the kitchen. Every meal we had was exquisite. We will come back for sure!!
