We saw a waiter make a bit of a scene rudely demanding that a group of young ladies who had already been seated leave. This was done in an aggressive manner beyond 'normal' rude waiters and no incident with them preceded his outburst. The women...looked pretty shaken and several other customers also looked shocked. We hadn't yet ordered and left. Put a bit of a damper on the next few hours. I would advise those who care about such issues to avoid this place. This happened in early June 2022.More

This place was a little hidden gem! Escargots are nice and buttery, the salmon tartare was fresh and the moules had great flavor. The drinks were flowing and just an overall nice time late at night.

Really great spot for lunch or drinks. Very friendly staff in here with lovely food and drinks. It's a tad expensive but you pay for the beautiful spot. There is also a good deal for a set menu if you are looking to spend a...little less.More

This is an extremely pleasant, cosy and traditional restaurant, located on the upmarket, picturesque and quaint Parisian island neighbourhood that is the Ile Saint-Louis, just as you cross the Pont Saint-Louis at the back of the Cathedrale Notre Dame. Whilst this historic neighbourhood, with its...seductive boutiques and family-run shops and restaurants, sees a huge footfall of tourists during the day, it is relatively quiet and very peaceful at night, and extremely picturesque under the soft glow of the street lamps. There are a multitude of restaurants here; we selected ‘La Chaumiere’ (without reservations) because of its menu, its homely feel, and the variety of seating options it offered: a spacious outside terrace (though enclosed and heated to keep off the autumnal chills), and a comfortable, relaxed and warm interior. We chose to sign inside the restaurant, and not on the terrace. We were seated promptly, after our vaccination certificates were checked The interior dining space is quite small, but tables were suitably spaced and care was given to the seating of diners. It has the feel of a very traditional French bistro, with with lots of timber beams, red velvet, and photographs of movie stars adorning the walls. The menu can best be described as ‘Traditional French’, with many favourites and well-known dishes available. If you are looking for really traditional French fare, this is a good choice. You can chose from a fixed-provide menu, or a-la-carte. A number of our party of four chose the fixed-price menu. At 24.50 Euros for three courses, it presented a decent selection of food choices. Service was convivial, attentive and considerate. Our starters included the La soupe a l’oignon gratinee and La salade de chevre chaud. They were ample, and delicious. The soup was particularly hearty, full of flavour and fresh. Our mains were the Le boeuf bourguignon, and the La souris d’adneau rotie au four (the lamb shank). Once again the servings were generous, and the plates were full of flavour. We enjoyed these dishes very much. Our desserts were the Crème brûlée - perfectly prepared with a crisp top! Our meal was leisurely, with appropriate timings between courses. The restaurant was fairly busy, but we felt unhurried and relaxed. For four diners, with beers included, the bill was around 120 Euros. It’s a lovely traditional dining experience, and one restaurant we shall return to on future visits to Paris.More

We came upon this restaurant the day before looking to book a table however we were told we couldn’t and to turn up the next day, this was no problem as we arrived the next day and were seated straight away! We ordered from the...21€ set menu which was amazing value with great variety of foods, some optional extras for dishes also, I had roasted Camembert which was 3€ extra but well worth it! My boyfriend had the cheese ravioli which was also delicious. We both had mussels and fries for mains which was a large portion and very tasty!! For dessert we both had the chocolate cake which was a nice end to the evening. Only downside I could find was that the atmosphere was a little stuffy sat under the canopy with lots of heaters as they tried to keep it warm, I think a little too warm as people sat next to us had to move as the patio style heater was burning them.More

This cafe was close to the flat we rented on Quai de Bourbon for 11 days the end of October to early November. We ended up eating their prix fixe menu three times and enjoyed every meal. Mussels in particular were lovely. Food is simple...and satisfying. We had no issue with waitstaff, and they were happy to see us when we returned. We heard lots of English being spoken around us, but noticed several times it was because it was the common language between the dining companions, in one case a Japanese woman and a French woman, or an American couple dining with a younger German man and a man from Czech Republic. Of course, it is a tourist spot. One need just look at its location to know that! But we enjoyed our meals there and felt it was good value for price, as evidenced by the fact we returned two more times.More

While a well located and attractive venue at the western end of I’ll St Louise it fell well short.. While I think I can make at home a half decent coq a vin the one served up at this venue was easily the worst I’ve...ever tried. The chicken was so tough it was chewy at best. The waiter simply shrugged his shoulders and went back to trying to chat up the girls at an adjacent table. My recommendation is to give this place a wide berth and try somewhere else.More

Their less expensive Bordeaux was difficult to drink and we didn't finish the bottle. We have been in Paris for over a week and this was the first wine we didn't like. The waiter seems to have known the problem, I asked him to taste...is and he declined, just saying "it's fine." This really did take away from the meal, but we the food was good. I had the escargot, mussels, and creme brulee. All very good. My husband had the onion soup, Coq au vin, and warm apple tart. He enjoyed them all. To be clear, every patron looked like a tourist. Nothing's wrong with that, but it's not a local hang out. However, I couldn't find another place in the area with mussels.More
