Staying in St Germain-des-pres, we stumbled upon this lovely restaurant specialising in the food of the South of France. We were intrigued by the menu and decided to give it a try. Fresh seasonal produce like white asparagus and nougat de Roquefort were a highlight of the meal and staples of the Sud like bouillabaisse did not disappoint. Good wine... More

Swift and courteous service, I had the three-course menu with eggplant (not sure why this starter is served lukewarm), scorpion fish (excellent crispy skin, bland taste), and "caffé gourmand" (recommended). The seating is very tight, not more than 20 cm. between tables (downstairs). The bill was higher than I had anticipated, my mistake, the fixed price menu offered on a... More

I visited on a Saturday and was pleasantly suprised to see that the cheapest lunch menu, ironically called "parlementaire" (the restaurant is close to the Senate and its members are known for their luxury taste), which costs only 19. 90 euros for two courses and offers reasonable choice was available. I ordered it, had as starter a good melon plate,... More

This is an example of why it is hard to review a place where you've only been to once, and the experience wasn't good enough to warrant a return. First of all, service is very good, and so is the décor. Our appetizer, an aubergine millefeuille, was superb. My bouillabaisse and my husband's shrimp dish was decent. Did we simply... More

I thought the food was okay, but not great. Having just come from the land of the bastides in southwest France, I did not feel the cuisine served here was particularly regional, or lived up to the fabulous food in the southwest region. Also not particularly inexpensive. Service was professional and friendly, and my teenager enjoyed the vegetarian offerings.

The young staff took good care of the customers. The food was good, not the best top, but quite tasty. A nice athmosphere.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here , risotto, bouillabaisse with good starters as well . Its profile is to more simple country food , so Know that going in and you'll be happy. service was attentive . The place was full of clearly local regulars from the neighbourhood , who knew the staff and the staff Cleary knew them .... More

It's very hard to find a restaurant open in Paris on a Sunday night. This place was packed. The food was fine but nothing memorable. Service was a bit frantic but friendly. Not the best meal we had in Paris.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
