L'Ilot Vache is one of those restaurants that could quickly become your beloved local where you feel completely at home among friends. The stand out feature of this restaurant was the genuinely friendly staff. Of the five tables on this Monday evening four were visitors to Paris whom the staff addressed easily in English and it was clear at least 3... More

Luckily had a reservation - necessary, given that it is very small and very popular. Exquisite food, good variety, and welcoming atmosphere. Desserts were a special treat - much chocolate! As with our dining experiences in Paris, this was a small and welcoming repast. Friendly wait staff and food that was not too stuffy, but delicious.

Me and my girlfriend had the set menu which was excellent value for money €39 each for four courses. There was plenty of choice and the food was fantastic. The confit duck and the beef were fabulous. The staff were very friendly and multi-lingual adding to the experience! Would definitely go back again and highly recommend.

After sampling several restaurants on the Isle Saint Louis, we dined here on our last night in Paris. If we had tried L'Ilot Vache first, we would have eaten there every night! The restaurant is compact and cozy, the food is superb, and the proprietor and staff are warmly welcoming. Our lamb chops were perhaps the best we've ever had;... More

On the last night of our vacation in Paris, we were looking to have some traditional French food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and that is exactly what we found at L'Ilot Vache. It was recommended by a friend and it certainly did not disappoint. We ordered one of the least expensive wines and it was fantastic. We were... More

We stayed at the Hotel Saint-Louis and I asked about a couple of restaurants and they responded to my email with the suggestion of L'llot Vache. So glad we followed the recommendation of the hotel. Small charming restaurant. The flower arrangements were magnificent. The food was outstanding and the service was great. When we arrived at 8:30 for our reservation... More

We were able to reserve a seating at 8pm just at 7:30 and were so glad we did as seating was filled upon arrival. So many fine restaurants in Paris, that it is difficult for me to say this one is better than another, but I can tell you that the food was delicious, the service outstanding, and the beautiful... My wife and I had dinner at this lovely restaurant last week on the Isle de St Louis. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience as the atmosphere was open and charming and the service outstanding. Our server was a very nice young lady who turned out to be from Wisconsin though we would have never known until we asked her to... More

This is the best meal we had during our stay in Paris. We were staying at a small hotel on the same street and, after a long day, didn't want to venture far for dinner. We had no reservation and the place was pretty full, but they got us in right away anyway. I heard later that we got very... More

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
