Firstly, the food was lovely and the cocktails were perfect! the reason I mention this first as this is the only good thing about the restaurant. Me and my best friend attended this restaurant on the 19th of March 2017, in high hopes that it would be as magical as it looked online. It was our last night in Paris,... More

Perhaps one of the most beautiful restaurants in Paris. The view, the decor, the location and the food all come together to make this restaurant amazing. The food is a nouvelle cuisine that being together French and Japanese blend. Beautiful!

This is a fantastic restaurant in terms of the food and the atmosphere. We went with my wife and my son for dinner while visiting Paris; all of us had different dishes and they were absolutely delicious. The prawns, the duck and the tuna were simply exquisit. No doubt this is a restaurant to visit. The view of the Sena... More

My husband, daughter and I took some friends to this restaurant on our last night in Paris. The restaurant has 2 rooms, one on the top floor with a glass ceiling and the other one floor down with essentially no view. They don't promise you'll be upstairs. Our reservation for 5 was at 9:30 pm but still could not sit... More

So, the American in me has absolutely seen every episode of Sex in the City, so when my fiancé surprised me with Dinner at Kong my heart was all a flutter. And Kong delivered. Seated right next to the window during a slight drizzle overlooking Paris the view couldn't have been more romantic. And the food!!! Gastro heaven. It was... More

It's this type of restaurant that gives Paris and Parisians a bad name. We made a reservation and requested to be seated at the glass dome. When we arrived we couldn't be further away from it. The hostess was patronizing and condescending while she "explained" to us that to be seated at the glass dome, even with a reservation we... More

We decided to make a stop here based on a friends recommendation. Although we only stopped by for drinks, we did have a chance to see the restaurant (top floor) and it was at capacity. Considering that this was a weekday visit, we can only imagine that this place is probably beyond capacity on the weekend evenings. The cocktails were... More

When we first arrived, we were told to sit at the bar and enjoy as our table was not ready yet. We had a late reservation as we had arrived that evening but we did arrive 15 minutes early because we were hungry. We figured yes we're early so we understand if our table is not ready yet but 15... Bold, new and spectacular, the KONG was born on May 26th 2003.
From the kitchen, decor and music, nothing was left untouched to ensure the success of this UFO that landed on the rooftops of Paris. Laurent Taieb dreamt up this creation, he hardly slept and still doesn't, in order to ensure the smooth running of his beautiful machine. From the very beginning, he has always been accompanied by his faithful talented team. 10 Years later, the daring and hard work has paid off with friends and success waiting in the wings : Philippe Starck took care of the decor, Richard Pommies, the kitchen, Beatrice Ardisson, the decks, and finally Ara Starck, the paintbrushes !

The atmosphere of the KONG bar entwines both the intimate character of a cocktail bar with the refinement and elegance of a luxury hotel bar. KONG infuses a mixture of a relaxed and elegant, classy and entertaining, lively and friendly atmosphere. On the 5th floor of a Haussmann building, every window boasts a different view: the Pont Neuf, Henri Sauvage's Art Deco design of the Samaritan building, Art Nouveau by Frantz Jourdain, the Seine, the Louis Vuitton HQ... On May 26th 2013, KONG was renovated, restored, refurbished and restyled to celebrate a decade of success and to enjoy the next decade in style and of course, good company.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
