Cosy, great food & wine! Eat the foie goas - it's home made & tastes amazing! If they have it on the menu the beef bourgigon is the best! Don't miss out!

Valentines meal with partner. Having read so much about this restaurant and tried tirelessly to book it from the UK by telephone and Facebook to no gain, I was so pleased that we were able to knock on the door, speak to the head waiter and book in for Valentines night. I/we had such high expectations and could not wait... More

Had an excellent meal - mostly local Parisians dining here when we went only about 10 tables. Small menu but tasty, I had kidneys with mustard sauce very good, wife had duck breast and the creme brûlée was to die for!

I love this little place, we stumbled upon it late one night about 7 years ago when we were looking for somewhere to eat really late on in the evening, it didn't disappoint! It is now our go-to restaurant and I always call to book a table about a month before I go as I would be devastated if I... More

This little, family run restaurant is only 80 or so metres off the Main Street but, well worth the visit. Reception was excellent and they spoke English without asking, service was good and we didn't have to wait too long for the succulent, renowned lamb shank. Perhaps a little pricey but then, so is all Paris.

I enjoyed my food a lot. Snails and some beef for dinner, ending with desert. Was just perfect. I would go there every time again. Price is higher, but its worth it.

Hidden down a little side street, Chez Toinette is instantly warm and welcoming. The staff are charming, and the food is outstanding. I would recommend booking, as it was full at 9pm when we found it. However, we went for a drink, returning in 30 minutes to be seated. Fois gras and snails were divine, as was the duck. I... More

Still THE best restaurant in Paris in our opinion, if you're looking for traditional French dishes, prepared with love and to perfection. just off the beaten track yet 2 minutes' walk from the iconic Moulin Rouge. The welcome is always friendly yet professional, the service is attentive, and the food outstanding. A typical Parisian restaurant, which makes for a perfect... More

The ambiance and staff welcome on entering the square one room restaurant was instantly warming and inviting. The menu is presented on a single sheet and many offerings were attractive. Service was prompt and unobtrusive but if prompted the server was very willing to have a relaxed conversation. The overall experience was so good that instead of visiting another restaurant... More

After searching TA for a suitable restaurant in the area, we settled on Chez Toinette hoping they could fit us in right at opening (1900). We were able to get a table and our server was friendly and attentive. The escargot were tasty, no removing from shell necessary. My friend had the duck which was kind of bland, and I... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
