Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere. The proprietor watched from the end of the bar while his restaurant filled up over and over again. Amazing steak cooked on an open fire. We felt very lucky to have got in.

We walked into the place and were sat immediately. Staff is nice. We ordered the beef for two. We requested medium well but were told that this would take way too long on the grill and we should go with medium.. But why?? We are willing to wait. So medium we went. It was just way to red for my... More

Remember , this is not a Michlin review , so ***** is not gourmet heaven. What you receive here is wonderful friendly service in a family restaurant. Traditional bistro fare , meat grilled over an open fire ( quite unique in Paris ! ) cooked to perfection . Now , not grilled in the kitchen , but literally over an... More

Steak. Potatoes. Bottle of red (they always have a great selection). I take my family here. I take my friends here. I recommend it to everyone I know (when they're planning a trip to Paris). Every time I'm in Paris, I stop by for lunch. Can't recommend it enough!

Was craving a steak and found this place not far from our hotel. It was full to the brim, the waiter found a table downstairs in this fantastic cavern with a curved vaulted ceiling. Oh the steak was wonderful cooked on a wood fired BBQ. This restaurant was also reviewed by Anthony Bourdain...can't go wrong.

Some of our party were from the USA and enjoyed some fine steak, and still raved about this place, THAT'S how good it was. Not only that, but the space is really nice and the service was friendly and swift. Street level, there only looks like there are a few tables with a fire oven at the back. However they... More

This is a great very traditional French restaurant! Been there several times after having tried the on open fire grilled cote de boeuf. 900gr for 48€ euros a great price for the high quality meat. From the main dining area you have an awesome view on the fire and on how your meat is being prepared. They cook in an... More

The service was amazing - both from the waiters and Robert himself. The food was wonderful. What more could you ask for? We had an amazing night.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
