Don't let the busy street nor the proximity to the Bastille lead you away, this has amazing authentic French food. We had the fillet mignonette prepared in the butter and cognac sauce, served with au gratin potatoes, and also the duck confit with thick potatoe slices fried in duck fat and seasoned with garlic- both dishes simply the best we've... Host to my "50th" - and 33 guests. Anyone that's ever organised an event knows it's stressful and a little chaotic - the hosts went far beyond the norm to make things work. Not in a "stuffy British way" - but more a typical Parisienne "c'est la vie" manner". Ambience perfect. Food wonderful. Wine delicious. Price superb. Just so so... More

Excellent food and wine in a vary relaxed and rustic atmosphere. Particularly recommend the rabbit and the Tarte Tatin. Garlic potatoes are compulsory.

Chez Paul came recommended by a chef so we sought it out and it did not disappoint. Cosy friendly atmosphere. Excellent service from the waitress. Our main course meat dishes were very good indeed, particularly the pepper steak. The wine list was quite extensive and allowed for a great food match. Both our desserts - tarte tatin and profitteroles -... More

I ate here about 5 years ago and the food was sublime and very memorable. The signature lamb shoulder for two was slow cooked and so tender you could indeed 'eat it with a spoon' as the waiter told us. I have fantasised about that meal many times since. However, I never could remember the name or location of the... More

My wife used to eat here 25 years ago when she lived in Paris, we ate here 15 years ago on our honeymoon... And we just ate here again, and it's as great as ever. Comforting traditional Parisian food, a quirky decor in a charming neighborhood, wonderful welcoming servers. We had a great 2 hour meal, steak au poivre and... More

If you are looking for a place where the french their french food eat on a casual and daily basis, this is it! The place is very casual; suited for families, friends, children, etc. The onion soup must have had like an entire cup of gruyere cheese. Simply honest food! Not expensive either!
