Flavoursome, filling and pleasing in every way. Bring your appetite if you plan to make it to dessert. Try not to fill up on bread between courses you will be sad if you miss dessert. Comfortable location away from the main fray, a gem of a find. Not located on a main road. Opens at 7.45pm and there are bars... More

What a wonderful restaurant! We met up with old friends and had a great night here- a relaxed atmosphere which made the night. The food is delicious and the friendly, family service is attentive without being overbearing. The fois gras, quenelles de brochet and chocolate mousse were all amazing! Thank you for making our evening so special.

The soup, the tuna with avacado, the veal, everything was simple and delicious. Very friendly service. Prices are affordable. You can get double the food in quantity and in taste you could get in a bistro on a main street.

What a joy to get great, hearty French food in a beautifully decorated & quirky traditional restaurant,at a reasonable price. The house wine was also nice,& was at a good price. After initially being shown to a table behind the counter,by a waitress (in a dark spot, possibly because I was on my own),I then got a table with a street view. Then fish... More

If you are looking for a cosy and long dinner in a traditional restaurant in upper-Marais, this is the place. All the starters we had there were great and the lamb was outstanding. Looks like to be simply decorated but carefully selected details take you back a few decades.

My friend and I stopped here for lunch after a visit to the Carnavalet. The restaurant opened at noon, and we were there shortly after. Almost immediately, a huge wave of people poured in. The day's menu is on a chalkboard, with three choices. I had the pork and lentils, which were fabulous, very flavorful. But the real highlight was... More

Very interesting, tasty, and appealing menu. Classic French. We had foie gras, escargots, veals head, fat duck breast and profiteroles. Tiny place, with ambience less charming than neon tubes. But none the less just as pleasant as authentic. Fell in conversation with other guest like the food served gave an imitate desire to share the experience with strangers. Must say... More

We actually ate here twice. It gets crowded but you can have a fun time at the little bar before sitting down. It seems a lot of locals eat here. We even ate with some and visited their store afterwards. It's great home cooked Parisian food. We were a bit disappointed with French Fries which were touted by TIMEOUT to... More

We were lucky to come in early & still get a table for 2, which is unlikely, for this small restaurant is known among locals and tourists. It is best to reserve a table on beforehand. My wife had a delicous chicken with morel mushrooms, and I had the veal medaillon, both with a mxed vegetable dish. The wine suggested... More

One of the best meals I have ever had. Amazing artichoke appetizer. My chicken w/ mushrooms and husband's beef w/ potatoes were simply delicious.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
