Run as fast as you can away from this restaurant! The first time I left because they're so rude I couldn't believe it! The only rude people in Paris I met. I lived around the corner and then tried it again! Yuck the food was terrible and the service even worst. It's also very expensive!!

This restaurant is just off the Rue Mouffetard and has a set up with a small square in front of it and its patio located essentially a floor above street level. It has a nice wine list and its food is a solid selection of the usual French classics. It was not that busy when we were there and the... More

Despite having reserved a table and had confirmation and a reminder of our booking, the restaurant had no trace of it. They found us a table but with no apology or good grace. The service was appalling. When we eventually managed to get a carafe of water, the contents were far from cold and it was put on the table... More

What a lovely surprise in Paris, a great location with a lovely view A set menu including a bottle of wine for very good value. The food was amazing. I do not speak a lot of French so it was interesting to see what came out. We were very pleasantly surprised. Great service ,although under pressure from a sudden rush... More

After the first four days of a nine day visit to Paris revisiting old favorite restaurants, we began trying new ones. Today was another find but with two provisos. It was Chez Lena et Mimile. It is a Basque restaurant but while the wine selction is good but a little pricey, there are no bottles or carafes of wine from... More

Service here was brusque and not friendly, despite speaking French. Food was mixed: excellent foie gras but a disappointing combination of mushroom soup and bland 68 degree egg on toast. House bread was not fresh which is a shame in an area of Paris stuffed with boulangeries. The main courses were fine standard French cooking. Dessert was hailed as a... More

This was best meal we had in Paris recently. It is charming and all the food is obviously fresh--they got a bread delivery just after we sat down. I had the fish which was delicious. One of my dining companions had the lamb special (good); the other the fillet (not great); and the last had what is undoubtedly the best... More

We had this restaurant recommended to us soon after we arrived in the Latin Quarter for a stay. I love French food, and perhaps my expectations were too high, but the meal was nice, but forgettable. We were on the terrace, which sounds better than it really is as the surrounds are hardly beautiful or interesting. The prices are high.

Our hotel in the Latin Quarter recommended this place too us and we were not disappointed. To start with the service was incredible from the minute we got there, every single person we talked to was lovely, kind and helpful. We shared an an eggplant appetizer that was probably the highlight of the dining experience (must go back for that)... More

Dear Chez Lena et Mimile Yesterday me and my family visited your restaurent for dinner. It was a very dissappointing experience. The bread was dry. The pickles tasteless We ordered the chicken curry for our 4 year old - asking if it was spicy - as it was for a little kid. We was told it was not spicy at... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
