A group of old friends looking for a nice dinner spot in the rue Marbeuf area. Getting tougher as so many have either closed or have gone downhill fast in the past month or so. We settled on our old haunt, Chez Andre. We all had one of the best meals in ages and with perfect service the evening was... More

If you're looking for a dependable casual bistro, this is it. Good oysters and predictable bistro fare. Nice to know about.

After searching Paris for both sole and oysters, returned to one of our favorite small bistros. Both were absolutely fresh, oysters excellent! Sole to was very good and well prepared, and fairly priced at 40 Euros. We really like the ambiance of Chex Andre, small, lively and very Paris. The front room is very cramped, with tables, right next to... More

Came here in 2004 so we had to revisit. The restaurant underwent a renovation about 10 years ago. Still a hopping place to have a fine meal. We had the bouillabaisse and a nice white burgundy. If you want a quick bite, don't go to France. If you want a lovely leisurely meal in the midst of a vibrant atmosphere,... More

I had been to chez André with a colleague for the foie gras in 2015 and remembered a friendly atmosphere with good service and nice food. This time, I went by at 7:30 pm for dinner, admittedly without a reservation, and was told to come back at 9 pm. What I didn't know was that they were trying to deal... More

Not having been here for a few years, I was disappointed by the quality of the dishes. The service was good, most of the staff are efficient and experienced waitresses, the decor is the lovely typical French bistro but I do wonder if this institution has changed hands. Worth a try if you are in the area but not worth... More

Ate here with friends on a Thursday night. Booked a table for 8pm. Restaurant quickly filled up. Had calamari for starter - very good. Half roast chicken and chips for main with a slightly pricey but very good Burgundy. Then a creme brûlée for dessert. All the food was great, with larger than average portions. Staff were friendly and happy... More

Chez Andre is a typical local bistro with good French food and traditional Parisian service (with a touch of arrogance). We've been here may a time over the past years, and always enjoyed the experience. If you want sophisticated restaurant food, go elsewhere, but for bistro classics, Chez Andre never fails to deliver.

This visit came after church @ the American Cathedral from a recommendation from the parish Dean Lucinda Laird. Fine choice. Not only was the food & wine super - we had fun cutting up with the staff - including manager Christopher on left in picture & our waitress.

Restaurant choices on Sunday night in Paris are limited, but don't settle for this one, as we did. The first time I've ever encountered over-cooked salmon in France, and the rest of our table's food was average at best. It took forever to get each course and we were largely ignored by our waiter (according to her name tag, Melissa)... More
