My husband really liked and enjoyed the dinner here. I thought it was okay. Server was nice but most probably we don't speak French so there weren't much conversations. Oysters were good. Place looks nice but a little old. Price was average.

The neiborhood is for night life and the restaurant is very good you can admire the fresh oysters displaying in front of you and every kind of the seafood before you go to your table the best idea to order is the big plateau with lobster and benne appetite!

On the usually very reliable recommendation of a French friend, this was apparently the place to go to eat oysters. Sadly we found it dated, empty and unfriendly. Oysters were fine, but everything else was barely OK and we found it expensive for what we had. Obviously still trading on a grand past, with unhelpful and dismissive staff. Try La... More

We had fresh oysters, a nice sole, and a wonderful soufflé Grand-Marnier. Service was great. Ambience most pleasant.

Saturday night in Paris and had nothing booked. Happened upon this restaurant and talked our way in before our turn and got one of only two window tables looking out onto a Paris night. Decor very quaint and atmospheric. Ordered a special for two at 86 eu and sat back in anticipation. Ordered a wine and no sooner had it... More

This was my first Oyster Restaurant. The setting is amazing you can breath the parisienne way here. Mussels and oysters the best of course! But it won't come cheap. Coming back again soon.

On a night when we didn't want to stray too far from our hotel and my parents wanted to eat really well, we chose this place. Our first impressions, were in awe of the 1930's elegance of the foyer and the upstairs dining area. We feasted on duck, sardines, seafood and lovely desserts. It was one heck of a dinner... More

We first try this well known sea food restaurant in Paris as we walk pass during the day and saw a sign outside advertising for 20 Odd euros. We finally book a table for an evening thinking at this price why not. We arrive early to not block their table at 20 Dollars. We apologise for take the menu. The... More

we had a very nice meal with excellent traditional fish and seafood dishes in a traditional setting; service was very courteous and friendly; not too many people, but better than too crowded; their traditional soufle dessert is extremely light and sweet: recommended.

Charlot's Art Deco palace is to be foun d right in the heart of a very lively quarter of Paris. And if Place Clichy reminds you of the seaside, it's entirely thanks to Charlot, reigning supreme for over thirty-five years as the capital's favourite seafood and shellfish restaurant! The authentic Marseille fish soup, bouillabaisse approved by the Marseillais ans with an a la carte twist, is enough to transport you to the seaside.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
