We arrived without a reservation and quite early by Paris standards and were greeted pleasantly. Service was helpful with an English speaker. The bread basket was refilled, the delicious wine reasonably priced and the salad courses and entrees were made with care and lovely ingredients. The prices are average, or possibly cheap considering the area.

We arrived from London right after the lunch rush, and were staying in Marais. Camille's provided such a wonderful place to have a lovely long late lunch. It was near freezing (literally!) and we were warmed by the great food and fantastic people. Definitely an excellent bistro place to enjoy lunch or dinner!

Great local restaurant. Escargots are delicious, and my favorite desserts are the tarts. This place is great for lunch or dinner.

If you are near the Marais, try Camille, a very pleasant corner bistros. The lunch menus was varied and reasonably priced. We had the coequell St. Jacques which were excellent. Service was prompt and friendly.

My wife and I (with our three children aged seven to twelve) were walking from the Picasso Museum when we stumbled across Camille. When I asked whether there was room for five, the waiter insisted, in jocular fashion, that I say 'Bonjour first'. This was the beginning of constant gentle ribbing by the lovely staff. They were happy to speak... More

I was in Paris in December with my daughter and cousin. My Cousin had been to this restaurant several times with friends who live in the Marais district. It took us a while to find ( thank goodness for GPS) but there are amazing food and fashion shops in this very interesting area. We were warmly welcomed by our English... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
