Maybe because of the closing time but the staff was a bit nervous, although I admit they did not say a word to hurry us up. The food was nice, and the quantity was just perfect.

We went a few times to Le Burq in our trip to Paris. Our room was in Montmatre and the restaurants are a little bit expensive around. Le Burq offered us good price, good food and good service.

Found this cool, bijoux restaurant following a friend's recommendation. The food was excellent, vibrant flavours and quality ingredients. Wine choice small but first class The service was phenomenal, friendly and pleasantly frenetic. The host/owner was even willing to put up with our dodgy French. Really buzzy atmosphere - this is clearly somewhere the locals love but that is equally welcoming... More

The bar/restaurant is located just around the corner from our house and since we moved some months ago it has become the place where we keep on coming back for both dinner and drinks. The food is extremely well-finished, both in terms of the ingredients chosen and of the choice of plates. You find some classics revisited, as well as... More

We went there for dinner on our last night. It wasn't anything special and you can find better dining options in the area. There wasn't much of an atmosphere or service

Although the food was good and reasonably priced, the price of the wine was truly shocking. We were charged ?24 for a pichet, a half litre of very basic red wine. When we complained that this was, pro rata, much more expensive than many of the wines in bottle, the manager completely lost his cool and was incredibly rude to... More

It's in northern Paris near Montmartre and is owned by a former actor and former architect. On arrival, the place was empty. But it was only 6.45pm. I had the duck breast which came with an amazing red currant sauce. The wine suggested was perfect, with the service both attentive and relaxed. Dessert was a crepe with creme Anglais. Perfect.... Pleasant cafe in the area we always stay. Nice atmosphere, some interesting takes on dishes and Agee with reviews that like the wine list and pricing. Easy access from several metro stops and close to but not surrounded by the attractions on up the hill. Usually a fun crowd.

We enjoyed a great first meal in Paris at Cafe Burq. We went here based on a recommendation from the Eyewitness Top 10 Paris book. There were three of us and we tried beef and pear skewers and the Burq burger which were all delicious. We also had appetizers as well as wine and beer and the total price was... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
