We are unlucky enough to live within a couple of minutes from this pocket-lightening place, and yet lucky enough to appreciate that the occasional sugar splurge is nevertheless best incurred here. Nothing is over-sweet and the concentration on the combination of taste and pleasure is...expertly focussed. Try the ice creams as well, but our favourite is the pink grapefruit tart.More

We had some of their financiers at our hotel with breakfast and tracked down this patisserie and chocolate shop to have more. It is very beautiful in its display and I only wish I could have bought some of the tarts and cakes on display....We bought the small Financiers aux Mirabelle, fraiches de Lorraine. Actually we bought every type available, each equally delicious. Unbelievably good. If I lived nearby , I would be here every day for a treat.More

I went looking for the millefeuille, unfortunately they didn't have that day. We tried the red fruits pie, it was good but not excellent. Next time I'll go for the pavlova that looks great. Everything had a beautiful look. Service was greatMore

I tried the spring and summer chocolate collection, as well as the vanilla marshmallows as I had heard such good things about the brand, and the window displays are always so mouth watering. Sadly while the visual is breathtaking, the taste doesn't match up. The...marshmallows have an amazing fluffy, like clouds really, texture but they don't taste of much - even though you can see the vanilla bean seeds. Meanwhile, the chocolates disappointed, they lacked the richness I expect from chocolate and tasted more of the cocoa fats than anything. The different fruit flavours didn't come through - pear tasted much the same as passionfruit and mandarine didn't really taste of anything. I should probably give their pastry and cakes a try instead, but after this first experience, I'm not in a hurry to go back.More

This is one of our favourite dessert shops in Sainte Germaine. Yes the food is expensive but you get what you pay for and the treats are exquisite in both appearance and taste. I believe one should treat oneself every now and then and this...is the place for it!More

Delicious tarts especially the lime and grapefruit tarts. The only downside is that there are very few seats in the cafe, so be prepared to take home the tarts instead. Friendly staff and one of them even gave me recommendations for other patisseries to try...in Paris which I found helpful. Overall, good service and yummy desserts. Would come back again :)More

A Paris friend sent me an article from Le Figaro, a French daily morning newspaper, about the best places for salted butter caramel ice cream in the city. Experts in the field had judged this product from many shops and ranked them for 2018. Hugo...et Victor headed the list. As this flavor is my absolute favorite, I went to the small shop in the vicinity of La Bon Marché soon after my arrival in Paris to see what all the fuss was about. Hugo et Victor seemed an especially appropriate destination in the middle of a heat wave that the city was experiencing. A woman stood outside the small patisserie and chocolatiere corner shop, tending a white ice cream wagon. Only two others stood ahead of me so I was able to quickly order a scoop of salted butter caramel in a cone (4.50 E). It proved to be even better than expected — creamy, buttery, extremely rich and busting with flavor. It was not one of the best cones I’ve had with this flavor, it was the best. I stood on the sidewalk in a shady area, savoring every bite. The woman went inside and opened the awning over a few chairs by the shop so I could be more comfortable. Later, I went inside to look around. Lighting and small displays behind glass gave the feeling of a fine jewelry store. Offerings were beautifully presented and not jammed together. There were even a few white tables with orange, lavender and yellow chairs, where customers could sit. I wanted to buy a macaron, but at 3 p.m., no more were left. I made a special trip here from the Latin Quarter on Bus 63. It stops across the street from Hugo et Victor.More
