Moonshiner is one of the most welcoming and coolest bars I've been in. It stays true to the essence of a speakeasy cocktail lounge. What many people call "speakeasy bars," are just period piece dark bars, with lots of brass and brick. An authentic speakeasy...bar has its vestiges in the prohibition era, when alcohol was illegal. Thus speakeasy's, think about the name, were disguised behind legitimate venues and someone inside slid a latch to peer at you, and you had to "speak easy" to be allowed in. Moonshiner is hidden at the rear of a pizza joint, and patrons enter through a large refrigerator door. Bravo! The decor is historically accurate, and that was a revelation. Moonshiner's design was definitively 1920s and 1930s. We nestled into two seats at the bar, and the three bartenders, two male and one female, could not have been friendlier on this hot May, 18th 2022. Moonshiner is air-conditioned, and that nod to modernity felt incredible on a hot and humid Wednesday night. All three barkeeps engaged with us with great humor and warmth. Listen, I'm an old fart, speak French terribly, and most young, good looking French people may see me as a lizard. Not at Moonshiner. They treated us with no judgment, and the gorgeous young woman even acted goofy to make us laugh. That deserves another Bravo! Drinks were wonderfully made and strong. We spent a fabulous two hours at Moonshiner and hope to return often.More

The food was incredible . However, the service of the French waiter was horrible . He refused to add a new chair or to adjust the table when a new friend joined us and he hasn’t welcomed him ! He was extremely impolite and he...did not behave like he must treat and talk to a client ! Don’t recommend !More

The food was good, the french waiter is impolite and has zero respect to clients! Zero hospitality! My friends and I have never been treated this way at any restaurant

Excellent cocktails, Sophie our server was quick enough to understand and we had an amazing time because of her.

Despite the fact I read some negative reviews, I had to visit Moonshiner as I got the adress tipped by someone that lived in Paris. Nothing I read seemed to be applicable for my first visit. The waitress and pizza baker were welcoming and showed...us the way to the bar (via the cold store). The bar is just lush. Beautifully decorated and a must if you're into cocktails and champagne. All drinks are made with a lot of attention. It's pretty pricy though but worth the experience. After the bubbles we went for pizza in the front (not that expensive). Best I've had in a while (the one with the burrata!). Loved all of it.More

Excellent night spot. Very cool entering via the fridge door to reveal the bar. Got a great seat so we could listen to the great 3 piece jazz band. Cocktails were good as well

Amazing this location, I did not expect this at all. I have been here several times entering a pizza place ending up at a 50-60's style cocktail bar. One word I wish there would be more of these placesaround in E.g. Amsterdam. The cocktails are...a bit pricey but really tasty. Imagine entering a Pizza restaurany and you friends went in 5 minutes before and I did not had a clue that there was a surprise behind the Freezer door ;-)More

I have been wanting to come here for years. Got there early with a friend and had great drinks. Cool room, yes past the restaurant (does it really serve a full menu? I'll have to go for food next time) and through the old wood...giant "meat locker" door. I know speakeasies are kinda played out, but I still had a good time. Not cheap, but go for the experience.More

Knowledgable bartenders, delicious drinks, and good vibes. Moonshiner is a speakeasy that you access via an Italian restaurant, which may explain why most of the bartenders are originally Italian! We ordered one drink from the menu, and the other was a bartender creation. This isn't...a cheap place, but it is worth it to go for one drink to experience a great cocktail.More

Ok, find the pizza place. Go through the front door and keep walking. Push through the double doors, enter the freezer and then keep walking. Push open the next door and enters super cool speak easy bar, jazz music inspired. Not huge. We had our...first drink at the bar and then moved to a table once vacated. Drinks cost circa Euro 13. Recommend the Garden of Eden cocktail. Fabulous bar tender. My helpful hint: make a reservation at the pizza place you first enter upon arrival for dinner. We went to the bar first, drank and then when we left, thought we’d have a pizza for dinner (10pm) but by then they were crazy busy with an hour wait ON A MONDAY NIGHT! Crazy! Highly recommended!More

This hidden speakeasy was recommended to us by friends. You walk into a very plain looking pizza joint and walk through a door that looks like it’s a door to a private office. You’re actually now in the cooler section and then there’s another door...you walk in and are immersed in a fabulous little room with awesome bartenders and wonderful decor. The bartenders were great mixologists and couldn’t be nicer to two non French speaking patrons from the states. Highly recommended for a drink or two before dinner in any of the great restaurants around. We were told to hit Chez Paul down the road and it, too, was delightful.More

Behind a pizza restaurant and going through 2 doors, you can find this cozy cocktail bar. It feels like another era with its deem light and its opaque square patterned ceiling. The bartenders are friendly and cocktails are good.
