We were recommended to try the breakfast here and it did not disappoint. It is such a quaint cafe with stylish interiors and wait staff dressed very smart. We went for the formule breakfast which cost €13 each. For this we got freshly squeezed orange juice (amazing!), a hot drink, selection of breads, croissants and an egg and toast soldiers.... More

We lived down the street from the cafe during our stay in Paris and had breakfast there almost every morning. We had the typical breakfast with croissants, juices, crepes. The food was good, little pricey, but it was Paris in an area with lots of tourists.

We came across this café by chance and I am so glad we did! Excellent setting (we sat outside to enjoy the good music of the nearby buskers, but inside looked charming too). Food (good quality cheese platter), wine and very friendly service were excellent.

Very friendly service, nice retro design and a real recommendation for the dishes to share (eg fois gras) and the steak. I suggest to avoid the tourist dishes and take the specialties. The wine is a bit pricy but the rest is very reasonable.

Had a cheeseburger for lunch. The burger was flawless; however, the burger and a small bottle of water came to the equivalent of over $30 - that's just ridiculous. It's my fault for not reading the menu prior to entering and by the time I sat down, I just wanted to eat - so I tolerated it, but left feeling... More

We stumbled upon the St. Regis after visiting Notre Dame. What a find! So cozy and warm. The menu is fairly standard for a Paris cafe, but the onion soup was just the perfect lunch on a rainy day. The vibe is very Parisian, but with a little American diner twist. I wanted to put the whole place in my... More

A great location off the busier streets of Paris. The food and service were both very good. Highly recommend the confit of duck with 'salardaises' potatoes. The chicken 'gaillard', though less interesting, was also very good. Bread and wine, as with all of Paris, did not disappoint.

So, yes, this restaurant is smack in the middle of the tourist trap area. So, yes, it is pricey, like $20+ for a cheeseburger. But, it is not fancy at all... quite "pub-ish" a little... However, the quality of the food and the portion sizes at least matches the price, also great and large, thank goodness. My daughter did get... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
