Crowded popular Japanese quick-service restaurant serving udon noodles and tempura. Had to wait in a long line before getting seats at a counter. Taste is authentic, although not particularly outstanding.
my favorite japanese restaurant. I live in the south of France, so I go specifically to Paris when I miss having really good asian food. This place is supposedly very popular for its udon, but on the contrary, what I order all the time here...is its tempura, one of the best I've tried. I've been coming here every time I'm in the city for a years already and it never disappoints.More
We had to queue for about 30 mins outside and nearly walked away. So glad we didn't! I'm not an expert on authenticity but I can say the food we had was delicious; seaweed soup, duck ramen and prawn + 5 vegetable tempura. We saw...all this being cooked for us by a very slick trio of chefs.
I'm very glad we waited.More
Come here for lunch with friend. It was the first time i come at this Japanesse resto and i love it! I order ramen with beef. I was excellent! So delicious udon. Its really Japanesse taste. The staff are friendly. The resto is not too...big. So you must come before 12pm to avoid queue. Highly recommended!More
Very good Udon but when you leave the place you need to shower to get rid of the smell. They need to install a proper ventilation to avoid that you smell like if you would be working in the kitchen.
The service is really minimalistic,...functional.More
My husband and I were staying nearby and found this little gem. I do love a good udon soup, so we decided to give this place a try. The restaurant is small, so there was a small line outside. It moves quick though. We waited...about 10 minutes. The food was good and the service was quick. It was just very hot inside, which was understandable considering how many people were inside. Worth a try.More
The line moves pretty fast. It was two of us so we were seated before some groups of 3 people. Delicious food with plenty of small side dishes. Would recommend Udon soup with prawn. Great place, would come back!
When the weather drops from 108 to low 70’s, Udon sounded perfect. This is probably the most popular in Paris near the Louve and is also a Michelin recommended (not star) restaurant. Most Udon houses use 1 type of broth then change the ingredients, Sanukiya...uses different broths and all dishes made in front of you. The most popular are the Pork Belly, Duck, and Beef.
I chose the Tonjiru Udon (Pork Belly, Vegetables, and citrusy Yuzu and savory Miso Broth) €15.
and for an extra €5 added the lunch special Tamagoyaki (Japanese Omelet), Torigobo Gohan (Chicken & Burdock Mixed Rice), Chicken Karaage (Fried Chicken). That rice was amazing, I immediately researched the recipe.
I was already thinking about what I’d order the next time, but decided not to put tomorrow what I can do today and ordered the Niku Udon (Beef and Onions) and it was even better! And since I was staying longer and they didn’t have wine I ordered the Sake tasting for €10.
Everything was really good with lots of flavors!
Usually a long line but it goes fast. I only waited 20 minutes but 90 minutes later there was no line.More
