When I first decided to spend a few days in Paris (as part of a 3 week holiday in France), this is what I was hoping for....fantastic 5-star restaurant. We did the full 8-course menu with different wines throughout the evening....wow. It was a little expensive, but if you want to experience a truly special meal, this is the place.

One of the best gastronomic restaurant in Paris. One should choose this restaurant for the value of the cooking. The place is small but service is perfect. And the chef will astonish you with his creativity.

If you are looking for fine dining that is worth every Euro spent - look no further than Cobea. This could easily be Paris' best kept secret. The wine-paired five course degustation menu set our taste buds on fire. Each course deserved praise. The serving staff were attentive, knowledgable and good fun. The chef deserves a Michelin Star or two.

For a Michelin-stared restaurant I was surprised that they handled different food-allegies so poorly. Many of the dishes was with bread aside, but they didn't offer any glutenfree bread. Cheese with no bread is a bad treat. Their english was poor, but they tried their best. The food was very good, and the wine-choises they took for us as well... More

Cobea is a great and small restaurant close to the theatre area of Montparnasse. It's inside a petite village type house. The atmosphere is distinguished but not stiff. The dishes mix a variety of flavours in original combinations. The food has a wide range of flavours, colours and textures used without exaggeration. The staff are attentive and will describe each... It's my uncle's 65th birthday. I wanted to give him & his wife a treat. I wanted a place near to where we are staying, Montparnasse. Hence I took a look at tripadvisor & decided to choose this one. Here they serve degustation menu. It came in 4, 6 or 8 courses. If I am right, the 4 degustation menu... More

Before reading my review please take note that I have been to a number of michelin restaurants. Including Pierre Gagnaire which i thought it was the best in Paris. However, unfortunately Cobea is definitely the worst experience i have had so far. Me & my partner had terrible food poisoning from the restaurant (it kicked in at very late at... More

We've been to a number of one star Michelin restaurants during our stay in Paris and Cobea is one of them. I have high expectation about this restaurant because of the reviews but the reality is not like that. I can just say this restaurant is ok overall. The decoration and environment of restaurant is simple and comfy. The staff... More

We ate here for our 20th wedding anniversary dinner. The service was perfect. The restaurant was full of well-heeled locals. It was basically full on a Tuesday night. We had the 6 course meal, which I think was the medium sized choice. It was more than enough--it ended up being more like 8 courses with the amuse-bouche and cheese. We... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
