My 6 year old and I had an exhausting day of walking and got back to our hotel in the early evening and just wanted a quick dinner and get to bed for an early morning champagne tour. I was out of ideas so asked...our concierge at the Hotel R de Paris (INCREDIBLE PLACE) and when I asked about the 2 restaurants directly across the street he said he did not hear the best reviews from other guests. He suggested we walk 5 minutes down Rue Clichy where our hotel was and try this restaurant. We arrived around 8 and the gentleman that greeted us was very nice and I greeted him in French and asked if he spoke English, which he did. I asked if it was alright to get a table even though we didn't have a reservation. He said he could give us a table but he had a reservation already set for 9 pm. I said we would be quick. We looked over the menu and there were great choices of food and wine. Since neither my 6 year old son or I are big eaters so we split a fish dish. Damn I wish I could remember the name of it because it was HEAVEN! The vegetables were delicious, the salad was delicious, the wine the gentleman suggested to go with the fish was delicious and we devoured the entire plate! This place was so great that we went back a second time during our vacation and was greeted by the same gentleman. Again we didn't have a reservation but he was kind enough to give us another table. We were seated next to an American woman on a business trip that said this was also her 2nd time coming to the same restaurant. She ordered the beef bourguignon and even though I no longer eat meat I wanted to inhale her dish because it smelled incredible. She said she came back the 2nd time just to have it again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND but be polite and reserve a table. We happened to be there earlier than most Parisians eat dinner so they were nice.More

We arrived at this lovely restaurant on a busy Saturday evening and the staff managed to provide us with a table. Despite the restaurant being busy, the staff offered a friendly and polite service and did not rush us at all! The food itself was...both delicious and generous! We ordered the soup of the day and ham terrine to start and the beef bourguignone and steak for our mains. Both courses were fantastic, particularly the beef! The desserts were also lovely, although perhaps a little less generous than the starters and mains. Overall, this is a lovely neighbourhood French restaurant and we would definitely return!More

Didn’t get the chance...in the area for one night only. This restaurant was recommended to us and thought it would be nice for our anniversary dinner. Made a reservation online. Wednesday @ 7pm. Got the confirmation. Got to the restaurant and it was closed. Nothing...on the website to say it was closed. I was even allowed to book the day and time. Still nothing. Very disappointed!More

The waiter brought a plate of light creamy mashed potatoes and an iron pot of the beef, mushrooms and pearl onions in a wonderful gravy that one spoons on top.Nice, friendly staff. Will definitely return next time we are in Paris.

People working there are very kind and helpful and it is definitely a cosy restaurant. Btw the 5 stars are mainly related to the food. I ate simple tuna with vegetables but I could taste the freshness of the ingredients. So I suggest to go...there.More

Our group had just arrived in Paris a few hours before we came here. Tired, hungry and jetlagged, we made our way to this restaurant as it was close to our hotel. We weren't expecting too much, but suffice to say, they blew our expectations...away. It was amazing! The signature dish is a must try, as are the steaks. Their beef bourgogne is incredibly tender and it's sauce has a deep, rich flavour that pleasantly lingers after each bite. It compliments the beef so well. This is a must visit if you find yourself in Paris.More

We went on a Monday night and based on people in the restaurant, we were lucky to get in. Service good, food good, wine good, nice decor. It’s clear the locals support this place, so I can safely say it’s not ‘a tourist trap’.
