My first visit. Nice slick restaurant with nice, smiling and fast service. Maybe a little too fast for the xiaolongbao which are not freshly prepared and that gives a fragile sticky wrapping: once you try to get the dumpling with your chopsticks, it sticks to the bottom of the basket and then easily breaks. The "magic" of xiaolongbao is all... More

It is difficult to find good Chinese restaurant in Paris. Shang Palace is excellent but you will pay dearly for the experience. Restaurants in the Porte de Choisy area are cheaper but the quality is often very uneven, plus the area is farther away from center of town. The Autour du Yangtse near Galleries Lafayette is a very pleasant discovery.... More

Went there twice last month as we wanted to eat before catching a movie. The first time we ordered à la carte and it was about €65 for 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 desserts. We ordered the little dumplings (bouchées shanghaiennes à la vapeur) were delicious, the pork breast (poitrine de porc), fried beef with vegetables and fried... More

We are regulars here since we were recommended this place by a Chinese colleague. The place is packed with Chinese locals. Excellent and authentic Chinese food, reminds me of home food and mom's dishes. Everything tried is excellent - the steamed raviolis in bamboo steam basket, stir fried aubergines in spicy szechuan sauce, wonton raviolis in broth, General Tao, etc....... More

I can honestly say this is some of teh best chinese food I have tasted in a long while! The value for money was excellent. Two of us ate for 35E and we were full to the brim. The Kung Po chicken was delicious! I will be revisiting next time I am in Paris.

Location of this restaurant is perfect as it's a stone's throw from Galeries Lafayette. Authentic and affordable Chinese dishes. Some dishes are definitely catered for Caucasians or Europeans but the pleasant waitresses will gladly recommend good dishes served in the restaurant. One dish not to miss is the Xiao Long Bao!

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighborhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
