My wife and I have frequented Safran for quite a few years, since we discovered it during one of our many walks in Quartier Latin. Being very fond of Indian food, we were quite hesitant at first to try this specialty in an area that is not especially renown for such cuisine. Yet, we were agreeably surprised by the quality,... After ordering the staff started to behave rude against us. The food was tasteless. My wife vomit when we come home and I had pain in my stomach. The staff came with rice and extra rice and bread but we were never informed that this cost extra. This restaurant is a tourist trap. This restaurant was a big disappointment.

This restaurant was around the corner of our Hotel so we came one evening. They were very friendly, the food was delicious! not huge portions acording to indian restaurants but very good! we choose a table inside of the restaurant but facing to the street, it was "agreable" to look at all people walking on the street (no cars street)... My wife and I ate here yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. She had the chicken tikka masala and I had the chicken vindaloo. Make sure you specify the number of pieces of naan bread you want when you order. This street is also a great place to people watch as you eat if you want a good laugh.

The food was so tasty and spicy just like us Indians like it! They made it exactly as I wanted it with nice condiments - Onion, pickles, Lemon wedges and green chilli. Enjoyed a nice butter chiken, dal, naan and rice. Service was excellent. They asked regularly about quality of food and if i want something more. I have been... More

We ordered two meals which took 20 minutes to arrive. My wife's was cold on arrival - they probably left it to stand while my biryani was being prepared. The noise of glasses being stacked was off putting and the waiter's decision to mop the floor as we started to eat was unwelcome.

Do not go to this restaurant. It is just a "hipster" hookah place for French students. The decoration was tasteful but the food was absolutely tasteless. Go to Samina instead if you are looking for Indian food, which is on the next street. The consistency of the gravy was slimy and tasted like Gerber's Carrots for babies. Anyone who has... More

Food tasted OK but was luke warm. Vegetarian meel was cold and tasteless. It was sent back and recieved scolding hot. Service was just terrible with waiter not paying attention or writeing anything down and had to get back and ask what we should have. Waiter standing next to the table jumping like he has to pee?!

Had read some positive and some not so good ones but decided to give it a try. Being a vegetarian, its difficult to find cheap places for a filling meal. Not exactly dirt cheap, but then this is Paris. Me and my brother reached here a little but were greeted very warmly and the service was super quick allowing us... More

We were done with our visit to Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle and thought of having an Early lunch and found this hotel next to us, we headed in that direction and the boards with Menu looked interesting so we decided to give it a try. However as the last review said "Appearences can be deceptive". I didnt really understand... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
