Classic French bistro with all the French classics! I would recommend the the grand marnier soufflé best I have ever had. After dinner pop round the corner to Harry's bar a must if you are in the area!!

Had dinner last night and it was divine.. Foie gras was superb and my main course, speciality if the day, was veal and it was to die for. A must visit when in paris..

This is a beautiful little bistro, with typical french dishes. The atmosphere and service were good and the dishes were prepaired very well. The tarte tartin was 'magnifique'. It is a good place for a romantic evening, but is also very suitable for a dinner with friends. Some of the tables are placed very close to each other, so if... More

In the past 4 years I have been few times at the Bistrot Volnay, and never been disappointed. In the course of these last years the sous chef has been promoted to chef. He really knows his business, and as most of the high level Japanese chefs, he delivers the dishes to the tables with great precision, well presented, and... More

One waitress so nice sweet, the other one needs to calm down. She is not happy when people drop crumbs on table. She is mad at herself if she dropped anything. You can feel the atmosphere is so tense. She does not say sorry. You feel like you are sitting with you 6 the grade teacher and you did not... More

My wife and I visit Paris annually at this time for her birthday and have visited the Bistro Volnay on a couple of occasions in the past with memories of great cuisine and a generally good experience. On this occasion my wife unfortunately tipped over her apertif spilling some on the empty table next to us. The waitress, who was... More

want the best pumpkin soup in the world as a starter??? go here! that was the entree(excuse the pun) to one of the best meal experiences in Paris. Small intimate and very cosy-a great place for couples. Yes you get the french attitude but its worth the sensational meal we had there. Would recommend it as we were staying at... More

We dined here on a weekday night at 10pm after coming from the opera garnier (about a 10min walk away). We were seated within 10mins of arriving. The place was packed mainly with tourists. I had the poached egg with cepes for entree which was amazing. My main which was the lamb stew was fantastic, with the lamb bring prepared... More

This was the second time I had dinner here. The 38 euro menu has a nice choice of different dishes. The food is nicely done and not just your usual French cuisine. The staff is friendly and service oriented. New bread is served all the time and the wines are good, too.

nice elegant restaurant with very good food.. a bit on the pricey side but the experience was worth it in the end.. just 2 very hard working waitresses so customers need a bit of patience.. i like that the menu was a simple 3 course package.. would definitely recommend to couples for a romantic evening out..

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
