The place was recommended to us by a local Parisian. It was busy, and vibrant, but the staff managed the crowd with ease and efficiency. The menu cards of the individual meals served hang from the ceiling for you to choose from. A tub of...More

We went to L'Avant because it was recommended by Anthony Bourdain. During the day, we were able to beat the crowd and get personalized recommendations and service. It is a small place with the menu hanging from the ceiling. Staff will translate anything you need....More

A wine/tapas/oysters bar with minimal storefront presence, easy to miss. Walk into a tightly cramped space with mostly bar seatings and tight standing room along the narrow restaurant. Voila. Fresh seafood tapas, fresh oysters, and significant drinks offerings open before your eyes. Definitely enjoy the...More

Loved the food here! Very unique concept with the menus hanging from ceiling. It was confusing at first but there’s two diff tapas restaurants right next to each other. One seemed to sell more seafood than the other but same ordering concept. The waiter/bartender learns...More

We’ve enjoyed tapas for years and in all sorts of places, including Spain. However, this place is by far the best. We spent a number of delicious hours trying a variety of wines and tapas. Service was good, especially considering how busy it was. Yes,...More

We've seen lots of tiny tapas bars in Spain, but this one is REALLY tiny. One could think it was designed to make you feel as uncomfortable as possible so that you order, eat, pay and clear off quickly. Parisian service : obnoxious and grumpy...More

Visited this place 3 times on my trip. It’s a great casual spot with delicious and affordable tapas option. The foie gras is probably my favourite. I don’t recommend this spot for big groups as you can make a reservation and the indoor area is...More

A fantastic wine by the glass with expert service, food menu is tapas style displayed hanging from the ceiling which looks like a novelty piece until you see how bustling the bar gets and it’s a perfect way to choose and order at leisure. Highly...More

We popped in this french tapas place while walking by. The atmosphere inside was busy and loud. Even though we speak no french the barmen were great with us. We tried 3 wines and 3 tapas. All very good. We especially liked the hotbread and...More

The other answers are correct. You could eat your fill, but might not have a stool. Unless you love crowds (which can be fun) go off hours (and before 7 pm). Expect to pay about Euro 35 for a satisfying appetizer.

No reservations. Menu in French. Batman (owner?) spoke English and was helpful. Thank you for evoking the memory of what was a wonderful eating/drinking adventure in Paris.
