Loud pop music is not usually to my taste but this sit-on - high- stools- at the bar French Tapas place was so enjoyable, I forgave it.In fact, it was part of the atmosphere, buzzing and upbeat.I'm not usually a tapas fan (outside Spain) as...it seems a rip off elsewhere, tiny portions of not very tasty and wildly over priced food.In Scotland, Tapas places are dire for those reasons. In this place, endess varieties of tapas versions of French food, described in hanging bits of paper from the ceiling, most of it all sounding good.Gorgeous bread and big bowl of good butter served the minute we took a seat and ordered. I demolished so much of that bread - super tasty stuff, unusual colour.Nutty taste. Then Oxtail stew with potato mousse (first class); 4 tasty foie gras filled filo pastries; asparagus ravioli in a cream sauce. If only this was the quality of food served in more restaurants! All washed down with decent wine.Very friendly, upbeat service. Tapas ranged from 6 to 10 euros so cost does mount up when it's all so good and you want to keep ordering, but all in, a really great experience. Will make for this place on our next visit - also a seafood version next door. Get there early as it only seats (at the bar) around 15 people max.More
