Terrific food , great wine and staff that listened to us carefully to give considered advice (we speak no french). Also had rather big portions!

The staff made me feel very welcome, despite my crappy French. Service was very attentive but despite being fairly close to closing time, I never once felt like I was being rushed. Food was excellent, started with poached eggs in red wine sauce. The eggs were cooked to perfection and were perfectly spherical. The sauce had bacon, mushrooms and croutons... More

The top point here is service: both friendly, quick and providing good advice. The decor is also nice and with lots of small details that I liked. And the food is very fresh - very good salmon tartar.

We had a lovely meal there with 2 young children. The steak is cooked to my request and the staff is so friendly . The resturant is cozy and make you feel that you are in rural France instead of Paris!

Very nice restaurant with a chef enjoying his work. Good dishes. Steak was good and dessert was great. Wines also good but expensive.

Visited for dinner with my wife once and can't wait to go back. The food and service were great. Food and wines are priced extremely reasonably, so it's great value for money.

Another restaurant close to where we were staying in Paris – it was again not very large and on a Thursday evening, was practically full. We spent a very relaxed evening, being the last day of our visit, enjoying some excellently prepared food washed down with some very good red wine from our home region in France. The service matched... More

Very friendly and authentic atmosphere and menu, but without any pomp or pretension. You can tell this place is powered by a love of good food and good wine. Quite small and cosy, but certainly not cramped. A good number of choices for food, and a HUGE number of choices for drinks. Excellent and service (and with very good English!)... More

I visited this quaint French bistro for a business lunch with a group of colleagues. In North America, lunch is something that we enjoy but we don't waste too much time. We eat, we enjoy, and we get back to work. This was completely different. I really enjoyed the wines, the French cuisine (my appetizer and my main course (veau)),... More

A small restaurant next to the former Paris stock exchange. I liked the country style cuisine: andouillette, Lyon style sausage and so on at a reasonable price. The atmosphere there is like in a good old bistro.

Thank Christian H

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
