After an unexpected visit to Paris due to a cancelled flight, my friend and I ventured out to see the Eiffel Tower and make the most of our little detour! Having enjoyed a cheap and cheerful €6 1 hour river tour; we decided to grab...a bite to eat. We were trying to find something quickly to shelter from the wind and rain and really wanted a Croque Monsieur! We were greeted/encouraged into the Le Bailli ‘restaurant’ by a man standing outside. And as we saw a couple eating burgers which looked quite nice, we decided to go inside. Unfortunately this turned out to be a huge mistake. We sat down and were given 3 croissants before any of our food or drinks had been served (Weird? Is this a starter? Is it complimentary?) We ordered 2 diet cokes and 2 croque monsieurs. The food was pretty poor: only one tiny slice of ham inside the Croque and not a single spec of cheese inside this ‘so called’ sandwich. Could and HAVE made better myself at home. After such a ‘warm greeting’ (obviously just in the aim of getting us inside) we were then pretty much ignored until it came to paying the bill.... this is where we realised quite how ridiculous this establishment is. The bill came over alongside a very rushed explanation of the extortionate total at the bottom of the paper. By this point the card machine is already being shoved in front of us. My friend actually said ‘That seems like quite a lot doesn’t it?’ The waiter simply ignored and aggressively stood over us as we were rushed into paying a bill of 62 EUROS!!!!!!!!!!!!! For 2 cokes and 2 sandwiches?! We were charged €9.60 for the croissants we didn’t need/ask for. And a 20% tip?!?!?!?! After the substandard food and the complete ignorance once we’d been enticed inside, this felt like a complete joke. After a very stressful day prior to this, all we wanted was some french comfort food and to shelter from the rain. We feel like we’ve been completely scammed. You can tell this place takes advantage of its positioning close to the Eiffel Tower. I am certain that it would not be a success (and definitely doesn’t deserve to be) without the poor unsuspecting tourists like us being lured into this trap. Now I know why we usually avoid eating near the tourist hotspots. Won’t be making that mistake again! Avoid at all costs, below-par food and staff with no dignity: clearly having every intention of ripping you off.More

We were delighted to be able to have lunch on the terrace in January, high price but exciting area, beautiful clientele, and nice sun, cool

Opravdu tam nechoďte, hodnocení, které mají, tomu odpovídá. Nalákají vás dovnitř. Po objednání, ale veškerý servis a zájem o vás končí. Jídlo katastrofa. Do not really go there, the rating they have corresponds to it. They lure you inside. After ordering, but all service and...interest in you ends. Food catastrophe.More

Okay true you know these places exist and off course you are partially accessory for even entering these places but still I don't think it is normal for a waiter to almost force you into paying a tip of 10 percent, he even wrote it...down for us (see picture and he asked 6 times and was almost inquiring us why we didn't want to pay... which I don't think is justified if you charge almost 9 euro for a glass of soft drink).More

We were tired and hungry and this was the first place we saw. Big mistake. It wasn’t until after we sat down and I opened up the Tripadvisor app and read the horrible reviews. Our experience honestly wasn’t that bad, it was just very expensive....When I ordered cappuccino i pointed to the small one for €6 not the large one for €9. When they brought out the large cup I mentioned again that I asked for the small. That is what we were charged. My wife and I each ordered a croissant, and shared a bottle of water along with a cappuccino. our total bill was €28. The server mentioned there was no service charge included on the bill which was good because I didn’t feel it was necessary to add any other costs onto it. There was also no tip line on my receipt to add one too.More

We came for lunch after visiting the Eiffel Tower, service seemed okay to begin with. After we had our over cooked fish, we didn’t finish all the food the waiters attitude changed how convenient. Over priced and not good quality

The staff were extremely rude from the moment we entered because of our luggage (two holdalls). The only reason we ate here was because it was next to the bus stop for getting to CDG that we were getting on at after we’d eaten. The...food was poor and for what I paid, I expected a lot more. Quite frankly I couldn’t care how near it is to the Eiffel Tower, if I am paying £55 for two sandwiches, a bowl of french onion soup and two soft drinks; I expect a lot more in terms of quality and service. We were hit with an absolutely awful service charge which seems to be recurring theme looking at the reviews however even after calling the waiter out about it, he insisted because I was using card he could not take it off. If I wasn’t in such a rush I would’ve not left until it was taken off however I had to get out and on the bus ASAP. Do not go here, there are plenty other nice places for lunch a few streets down we only went out of convenience. Tourist trap with arrogant rude staff. AvoidMore

The food was good and for a reasonable price. What really caught my attention was the friendliness of the waiter. He went out of his way to make our dinner special. I didn´t get his name, but I would like to thank him.

Again we managed to get a table on the terrace, with some nice sunbeams, simple but good food and fair prices
