When entering the passage Brady you leave París and enter a little market somewhere around the world. Quickly after entering this covered Parisian classic but foreign looking covered street you come to a small restaurant where a well dressed person welcomes you and guides you to a table. The smells from the nearby spice stores are omnipresent and accentuate the Indian atmosphere well established by the restaurant and the markets.
The food is very good and prices are very cheap for Paris, the staff is extremely friendly (also not granted in Paris).
The restaurant is not a Michelin star, but for me it was worth way more because I went back to Dehli on a Thursday evening as I was expecting to stay in Paris.

We were a little wary trying Indian food in Paris since our understanding was that it’s not very popular and our love of curries back home in Scotland would mean we’d be disappointed with bland food.
We could not have been further from the truth with Old Shalimar. We ate at 7:30 and the small restaurant was quickly filling up with hungry diners.
I opted for chicken tikka biryani which came with a yoghurt dip. It was a very big portion which had lots of beautifully spiced and tender chicken… the fragrance of the rice was heavenly and this has to be one of the nicest biryanis I’ve experienced. I opted for medium strength which might be too much for someone who can’t cope with hot curries - but for me it was fine as both me and my husband are seasoned curry eaters!
My husband had the lamb curry which he said was delicious.
The plain Nan was cooked to perfection and I’d recommend one per person. Back in Scotland nans tend to be big enough for a table to share but these smaller ones somehow were lighter and more delicious.
I was sorry to read some of the poor reviews for Old Shalimar. For the quality of our food, the excellent service and value for money we think Old Shalimar are doing an excellent job!

Super fast service, at supersonic speed, and affordable prices. Unfortunately, it is not possible to achieve a toning down of the spice dose in the many dishes offered. So if you don't like spicy food, run away and go elsewhere. But that's just a matter of personal taste. Excellent restaurant, if you have nothing against spices. Nice staff.

As you enter the passage Brady this is the first restaurant you come across. Ignore it and keep on walking. The service is very bad - you wait ages to be edited on and ages to be served. It’s not even worth the wait as the food is not good at all. There are many good Indian restaurants in the area but this isn’t one of them.

Suri was so fun and he made sure we had a great time dining here. Made some memories over a great meal. Overall good Indian food, I felt that some dishes lacked something though.

Good food, nice service but the food was rather bland compared to the Indian Food we are used to. This place is in a "passage" (alley) with several other Indian restaurants right on top of each other. Good place to go to sit "outside" when the weather is inclement.

Very fast service, very good quality flat. The tables are very small. The server does not speak well French making it a bit difficult to understand.
Booked with the fork, at the time of the check the 30% is not taken into account, I report the raincoat and the manager tells me that she does not do it for one person while we are two.
Finally with the discount for two 35€ instead of 45€.
Preferred booked via the fork to have a discount off menu.

Absolutely great in all ways! If you love both Indian food and Indian atmosphere, this is the right place! Absolutely great food for a very fair price! Loved the sweet lassi, the samosa, the “agneau korma” and the naan bread with pistachios. Staff was very friendly too. I really don’t understand the negative reviews here… If I ever come back to Paris, I will surely come back here!! Only minus point: they were reluctant to accept my dog, but for “this time” they accepted…

The fourth restaurant I've been to in the passage and the first with good portion sizes + food I liked. Though the palak paneer did not have that much cheese and I am not sure if the sauces were fresh

The restaurant itself is very good, the dishes are super tasty, the atmosphere is nice and the prices are more than reasonable. You can tell the staff is overwhelmed because they are running everywhere and don’t really have time to take care of the customers, even though they were very nice and polite. That’s why I remove one star, because the service is very slow. The food is perfect though, I definitely recommend eating in this place,

Overall ok and nice service however we were charged for tap water twice when it was put on our table and unfortunately there was no poppadoms. The food overall was average but they were busy and made an effort, the lady especially was kind and attentive.

Gracious service by Suri and the rest of the staff, consistently delicious (!!) food over a variety of the menu (we’ve eaten there several times now over the past 6 months), fair prices, and a lovely but casual environment…what more could you ask for? Old Shalimar is just terrific!

Stay away, bad service!!
Made a reservation and when we got to the restaurant the owner said that it was cancelled, because they decided to open 1h later…very poor gesture without any sende of regret from them!
