This fine small bistro is just as good as its next-door neighbor Invictus, which is high praise. We were the only Americans among the attractive French patrons. Small but excellent menu and wine list. Homemade pate, chicken, aged sirloin, great fries, to-die-for chocolate cremeuse. Generous portions as well.

Amazing quirky restaurant with food to match, great wine selection small menu but still enough choice, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff who are happy to assist. Great find.

My wife arrived promptly at our 7:30 reservation time to find we were the only guests. A couple who came in about 5 minutes later without a reservation was told there would be a 45 minute wait even though all the tables except ours were empty. By 7:50 we knew why; the place was fully occupied with a variety of... More

Moustache is just about two blocks from the hotel in which we stayed, the Jardin le Brea Hotel on, not suprisingly, Rue Brea, and so was an easy walk when we had no desire to yomp about the city for dinner. We ate early with a ressie at 7PM. The place was empty on Saturday night when we arrived but... More

Perhaps we had too high expectations but it was nothing of the special time we wished to have there. The chef, I believe, or the owner, not sure, showed a genuine care for us and our food. That was what we liked most.

Delicious food in pleasant setting. Enthusiastic staff gave excellent service, hard to believe that water and chef served the entire dining room of approximately 10/12 tables, but they pulled it off flawlessly.

Cosy and friendly service with a great menu. We tried both options between us in our three course dinner and all dishes were superb. The star was Basque Pork pate appetiser. A glass of Billecart Salmon bubbles to begin made a most delightful experience.

We were looking to have dinner for our last night in Paris and went to Moustache without a reservation; fortunately they had a table available. The meal was excellent - a coarse pate and beef fillet followed by a chocolate mousse. Very good service by a single waiter for the whole restaurant! Don't know how he kept up. Highly recommended.

Our hotel got us reservations here, with only 24 hours advance notice. Of course, we ate earlier than most Parisians, but that was fine with our group. Very tasty meal and friendly service.

We had a lovely shared meal of cold asparagus soup, steak, and whole sea bass. The prices were pretty good: I recall the soup and steak were about 30 Euros together. The menu is also available in English, but all the other patrons were speaking French, so this isn't a typical tourist restaurant. There was no outdoor seating, but the... More

Welcoming, chic and relaxed, between the parisian "bistrot" of the 30's and the New York modern loft, Moustache offers a blended cooking, full of flavors and seasonings, in a cosy, jazzy and very pleasurable atmosphere. Not to be missed: marinated meats with a side of tamarind and seasoning sauce...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
