Amazing restaurant. The decor and service make you feel like dining @ home. Great surprise cocktails if you have a taste for mystery (despite tou have all the classics). The food tastes and looks great.

I had dinner with 3 friends on a Friday evening in what we thought this super cool restaurant. The location is truly nice and you can really feel the Marais vibe. Nonetheless this was the only positive side of our dinner. First of all the...service was really poor... we waited 1:30h between the starters and our main course and nobody was coming to check on us and asking if everything was alright. Moving on the food...for the starters we shared the burrata and the jambon serrano who were clearly over priced for their quality (probably bought at the supermarket nearby). Next We had the chicken whose taste was the same as those meals they serve you at the hospital when you don't feel well. All this for an excessive price and one of the poorest service I have seen in my life. Depends on what you are looking for...but if you want to spend your money wisely, don't go there.More
Tucked away on a small alley like street in Le Marais, Derriere is more that meets the eye. At first glance one is instantly enamored by the quintessential outdoor patio with it's perfect Parisian patio furniture. Inside the restaurant there are two floors for your...eating pleasure. It is clear that his was a home at one point as there are beds that make up chairs while you eat viewing what some might think of as raunchy art, I just see it as modern. The music is always shazamable and the serivce and food are just good enough to keep you wanting to come back again and again. As an American, my favorite part of being here is the people watching. All walks of life as well as typically chic Parisian men and women dine here, carrying motor bike helmets and sporting high heels, the effortless allure of the French.More
Spot is completely hidden, would never know something is there. Walk into a courtyard vibe area. Straight ahead is the restaurant, to the right is the cocktail lounge. The restaurant is SO INTERESTING, beds for chairs, bathtubs for sinks, the vibe in this place is...on another level! The food is delicious, is it out of this world:? no, but its the experience which i loved. On the third floor is a hidden bar, behind a closer (narnia style), which i suggest to check out.More
Sometimes chance is your friend. I found this restaurant by accident and was intrigued by the setting as it is inside a patio, away from the street. I tried my luck and was given a seat at the bar overlooking the dessert area of the...kitchen. Per-fect for me ! I quickly elected the beetroot starter which was a combination of sweet beetroot, pink beetroot, beetroot ice cream, ricotta and raspberry. Very balanced and refreshing for an all season starter. Main was the sweetbreads with sauge sauce and sweet potatoes. Very nicely done - I would have liked the sweetbreads to be more braised but it was still very decent and the sauce magic. The dessert chief was also taking care of the cheese in front of me and so I decided for it. Laguiole and Cantal, both equally delicious. At that time I was really stuffed also due to the levain bread I kept eating with the cheese and which tasted wonderful (not an usual bread eater). At that time I had engaged the conversation with the dessert chief who was extremely friendly. I noticed he had cooked macarons and I asked him about them. He said he was trying something new for the next day and asked me if I wanted to test. How could I say no to that ? It turned out to be a pistachio, raspberry macaron. Not enough pistachio but this is something he was testing so I am sure it will turn out beautifully today ! Then coffee and home made sables. The wine I had was a quite lovely Côte Rôtie. Best part of the meal : interaction with the dessert chef. Service could improve a bit - it was a tad slow. But would definitely recommend the place !More
Horrendous service with no attention to client tables. Great food, and such a travesty the waiting and hostesses have no training to extremely poor customer service skills. Rude and unwilling to assist tables even excluding ours. We were told that only parties with resturant reservations...are served with priority and with appreciation as paying patrons. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Picturesque Resturant with a fun atmosphere that lacks all kinds of service delivery.More
Ecclectic restaurant set back from the street; you have to know where you're going to find this little spot. Make reserations, too, as it gets crowded. I did enjoy the burrata appetizer with its salad; the vinaigrette was really great. The pork main course in...port wine was fairly lackluster and kind of tough. If anyone on staff reads this review I recommend that you brine your pork before cooking. The chocolate mousse dessert was good, too. A little pricey but not outrageous. Although service is included with the price, my server indicated a place on the receipt where one could leave an extra tip and he was a bit emphatic about my doing that. A bit tacking in my opinion but I left an extra 5 euros anyway as I thought I might return during my stay in Paris (I didn't though). I might go back again but I wouldn't make it one of my "must do" experiences.More
Was a quiet lunch, with only 3 other tables occupied (perhaps it was because it was the first day of the strike). Love the quirkniess of the restaurant, and how one can have a small simple meal with the various combinations in the menu. Food...was just average, home-feel (like the atmosphere i suppose). Nothing fanciful.More
A hidden place close to the metro Arts er Metiers...I’ve heard about the resto for many years.. So my expectations might have been too high... The interior is nicely done, it feels like a home.. We got a spot upstairs against the window.. A little...cold on the back.. I would recommend a spot downstairs..Loud people in the private room, which was not so private since there was no door and they we good hear everything.. young Call girls were hired after a while... The food is way overpriced! And not great either..I would not recommend it for the food.. Maybe nice to have a drink the end of the evening or in the afternoon..More
Recently we visited Derriere for the second time during a quick trip to Paris to celebrate a friend's birthday. Both times were very good! The staff are fun and helpful and the food was great - we had a great time!
