A restaurant near Norte Dame where we had a nice lunch. Only a few minutes walk from Notre Dame and good place for a snack, well worth a visit

Popped in here for a drink and the food looked so good we decided to have a sandwich. We had the ham and cheese baked sandwich with fries and salad. It was really good and is recommended. It’s located right in front of the Notre...Dame Cathedral. Very sad sight to see given its recent fire but nonetheless is worth stopping by to see it.More

After viewing the forlorn Notre Dame we popped in for a coffee and a glass of wine. We were very taken by the ambience and the friendly service. Several locals were enjoying lunch and I have a hunch next time we'll be back to try...the food!More

In tourist trap alley leading up to Notre Dame cathedral (closed and totally walled-off following the tragic fire) and surrounded by tat souvenir shops (how many little plastic Eiffel Towers are there in Paris and who buys them?). We were in need of some “sanctuary”,...drinks and crepes and selected this cafe/restaurant on the basis of its name and memories of Charles Laughton’s famous movie lines. We had half an hour “sanctuary” and they “gave us wa-ter” (with our crepes). Food and drink okay but the service here is a bit haphazard and marginally slovenly. Great views of the wall at the end of the street.More

Great food, great service, but we were sat outside surrounded by non smokers. Then all of a sudden a couple came along, sat down and started smoking whilst sipping their coffee - meanwhile everyone else is trying to enjoy their lunch without breathing in second...hand smoke. Why?!More

If You would like to eat or drink something this place could be a good choice. Good location and acceptable price. Good service, we did not have any issue.

France has never heard of lung cancer, at least all the ones who sit outside at the cafes....once you squeeze buttcheeks and don't mind rubbing elbows with the people next to you, bring oxygen or a mask, especially if they have 2 packs on the...table and a beer. Other than that, this is a typical cafe in Paris....More

We stumbled on this place very close to Notre Dame so thought it would be expensive but were pleasantly surprised. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. Good food and a pleasant time.

We got old food they heat in microwave. When we told the staff, we where told that the food was new. They took my wifes food back and when she got her food back again, they had used the mickrowave again. We asked the staff...again and they said they had NOT used the mickrowave. When the staff saw that I took picture of the food and started write a review on internet, the manager came and said they did not want us to write a bad review, that it was bad for the restaurant. Then they said that the food was made in microwave and that it doesnt effect the food. But we could taste that the food was old and made in microwave. We did not eat the food, just tasted it. We had to pay full amount. The staff was laughing at us that we expected fresh foodMore

I popped in here for a late lunch snack. I only wanted some bread and cheese and a side of chips - weird I know but it’s what I wanted. The food came quickly, the bread was great, there was a good selection of different...cheeses and the fries were nice too. There was a slight misunderstanding with water, when I wanted tap and was served bottled for the pricey sum of nearly €5. I was not at all impressed and spoke at length to the waiter about it. He was very nice and explained the way to ask for it to ensure I’m not served bottled water next time. It was a learning curve and it never happened again during my stay in Paris, as I took heed of his advice. As I said above, the staff were really friendly and helpful and honestly this unassuming, little brasserie really exceeded my expectations.More

Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,
