Spot on service. Bavette, Burger and Fish of the Day all delicious. And the Brie Fermier - superb. Wool lined seats and heaters make for a perfect February lunch. Recommend highly.

Restaurant's Favorite

This was our favorite meal in Paris (of about 20 restaurants we tried)! We had the Tiger steak (perfectly marinated) and duck confit (best tasting and most tender of our trip). We also had a meringue desert to finish off the experience. The waiter was...quite helpful in recommendations and conversation. Also the seating was behind a row of plants - enough for privacy while still being able to people-watch. We will come back next time in town.More

Excellent food and wine with attentive service. Liked it so much we will go back tonight. Other bistros were suffering from the pandemic blues. Not this one. Duck confit and tarte tatin both 10/10.

It’s a great spot in Rue Rambuteau and we sat outside and watched the world go by. The quality of the food was good and the service was friendly and efficient. My foie gras was tasty and our son loved his (very large) snails. So...this would have been a 4 star review but....we felt slightly let down by the fact that when we arrived we mentioned we had two young children and asked if they had a children’s menu to which the answer was yes. Our son did of course have his a la carte starter (snails) but we then found afterwards that both their mains were €15 and €17 ( we didn’t see the children’s menu so didn’t see prices when we ordered when the waiter mentioned both chicken and burgers were on the children’s menu); the former was for some chicken for our 3 year old - all very tasty but at those prices not really ‘children’s’ menus. We might have missed something but seeing our 3 year old we would have expected the waiter to mention a different option if there was one? We paid €161 for 2 starters and 4 mains which seems quite a lot when compared to a previous meal at a restaurant 2 nights previously for €79 (where the menu enfant for 12.50 also included drinks) albeit we didn’t have wine with this so the comparable price would be €121 - still quite a difference. It’s central Paris, yes, but....More

Sometimes you just pick the right place to eat. Greeted outside by Alan - the waiter - how could we not commit to a table for seven. Alan talked us through the entire menu with a strong preference to the Tiger Steak. Six of the...7 of us went with his recommendation and weren’t disappointed. Just superb. Tender juicy and so tastey. Whole ambience was a perfect Paris experience for travellers. Alan was amazing. Really looked after us right through the night. Highly recommendedMore

The waiter didn’t even listen to us what we ordered, plus we had to respetes 3 times. Besides he brings other drinks not referee what we asked for. And PLUS we just tell him that we didn’t order those things and he gets angry at...us and starts yelling and complaining and making drama. And at the end when we left I’ve heard him to say PUTAIN to us. the worse is like he was screaming and talking loud to us, like we were the guilty ones. We just told him that that wasn’t our order in very polite way just we received was screams. Terrible service please avoid it I wanted to run away from that place!More

Paris must have a thousand small brasserie / coffee shops but very few will be as pleasant as this one. The ambience is wonderfully authentic and the food - we had breakfast - was very good indeed. Our waiter was an interesting fellow. Not for...him the reserved style of Parisian table folk - he was friendly, chatty and not averse to joking and gentle back-slapping. Whether you like the restaurant will largely come down to whether you like formality or OK having a bit of chatter and a laugh. Some will like this and some not. We liked it.More

We know Paris well. Spend 70+ days a year in France. We'd had a weekend of off the tourist trail chic and modern bistros but for our final lunch before heading to the airport and home. Our waiter, a spectacled man in his 60s, constantly...nudged and winked at my wife each time he passed making us both feel uncomfortable. We decided we'd skip pudding and coffee and just leave. I asked "Je vous dois combien?” (How much do I owe you?). He responded "Je prendrai la dame en paiement” - I'll take the lady as payment. My wife got up and walked out. I went to the till and handed over my Visa card. He said “you tip me big or I keep your card.” I didn’t tip. The following morning I woke at home with food poisoning. We're huge Francophiles and this is not typical of traditional Parisian restaurants.More
