Location and contact

Au Vieux Paris restaurant in the very heart of Paris, on the Ile de la Cite not two steps from Notre Dame, has history and gastronomy in its favour. Patrons Odette and Georges bring their seasonal ingredients each week from the finest organic farms in the Aveyron in southern France to create dishes like warm foie gras, duck breast a lorange, and other classics. The restaurant is sited in an Canons residence constructed in 1512 and the dcor brilliantly over the top reflects history in every detail, the heavily figured scarlet wallpaper and tented ceilings, the antique prints, the exposed stonework and rich draperies. Au Vieux Paris is terribly romantic - youll even have to

Ducked into this lovely spot during a rainstorm. The staff escorted us upstairs (All red and gold, over-the-top posh. I loved it.) and brought us the most delicious meal we've had yet in Paris. I had linguine carbonara and my husband had the house specialty,...More

Cozy place. The food was okay, but not great. The waiters weren’t that friendly, but not slow as some other reviews here wrote.

I can't comment about the food, as we just drank wine! But sitting in the sun outside this beautiful old building has to be one of my favourite Paris moments. We were also shown around inside, well worth a look.

We stumbled across here when we were visiting Notre Dame cathedral, very pretty on the inside and outside and waiting staff are very friendly. We had a drink and lovely creme brûlée.

Poor qualitty food, rude service. Only reason to go there is the fantastic building from 1512 and the magnificent interior.

It is 18 degrees and we are bathed in sunshine sitting outside in a quiet street just around the corner from the Notre Dame cathedral. The service is friendly but slow. We're not in a rush. My black pudding is tasty. My sons enjoy mussels...More

Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,
