Favorable TripAdvisor reviews, and the closeness to our rental apartment, led us to make reservations at this unique establishment for our first evening meal in Paris. Our server spoke excellent English and was very amicable and helpful. The menu(carte) was short, but very unique in that it had fixed prices for each course. There was also a short selection of... Recommended by Trip Advisor and not a disappointment. Walked in off the street and friendly greeting. Asked for and was given vegetables instead if rice with tasty halibut fish well worth a try. Meredith

July 14 2016, A re-visit after a walk on Ile de St Louis, since we were there 3 years ago. The cafe was empty and we were not sure it was open since it was La Fete Nationale (Bastille Day). Our friendly waiter explained the restaurant has changed ownership six months prior. The quality and service has not suffered and... More

The restaurant is just off the Seine near Notre Dame, easy to get to. It offers al fresco dining and seats inside. We ate on a drizzly evening and it was very comfortable inside. The hostess was very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed two starters (including a delicious shrimp soup), a halibut special (quite good), and an apricot dessert that... More

This restaurant is in a great location along the Seine with a view of Notre Dame. It has a friendly helpful staff that speaks English. We found our food to be pretty good with a limited but quality wine list. If you are in the 5th, it is worth going to.

We had a fantastic meal at Le Tournebievre. The food was excellent, as was the service, and the restaurant is in great location, right next to the seine. Would definitely recommend.

We visited Le Tournebievre on the evening of May 5th, during our Paris vacation to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary; we had identified it beforehand via Tripadvisor. The "excellent" reviews are right on: it's tiny, intimate, friendly -- and features truly memorable cuisine. You don't need to know what's good here -- it all is. At one point I asked... More

Went there with 2 colleagues for lunch and we decided to go for the normal dinner menu (that was lunch) hence we had the full 3 course high end meal. It was a wonderful moment. The entrés were excellent (fish soup, burrata) accompanied by a very nice olive-based butter. Loved the bread too. That was followed by a perfectly cooked... More

Description
On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within easy reach of Paris' most celebrated landmarks is Le Tournebièvre restaurant . The first thing that will undoubtedly strike you about the restaurant (formerly Le Rencard Gourmand) is the breathtaking view across the river. But quite apart from the fairytale setting, Le Tournebièvre is special in its own right. Its classic French bistro cuisine is hugely popular with locals so it provides a real Parisian experience, quite apart from the usual tourist-version of Parisian dining. The simple bistro interior is accompanied, in the summer months, with pavement dining under a wide, shady awning. The traditional French menu is created using fine, seasonal ingredients, with a wide choice for all tastes. And, sacre bleu, the service at Le Tournebièvre is both professional and genuinely friendly.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
