We have traveled France and stayed in Paris many times. Best meal we have had. Flavors extradorinaire. Do not miss this restaurant.

Lunch at Le Tournebievre was an enjoyable, but not particularly memorable, on a drizzly autumn day. I am intrigued by the other side of Notre Dame, with flying gables emanating from the structure, as if cascading into the Seine. The tiny restaurant faces this view, across the Quay Tournebievre. Service was efficient, with reasonable wait times, and callbacks, as the... More

I spent so little time in Paris that we have to squeeze in eating with touring. Luckily, this restaurant saved my palate from the wrong choices we had for days and the close proximity of this place to Louvre and Notre Dame is not bad either. THIS IS SIMPLY ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANT in town. But what made it... More

Very good food and kind staff. We have the beef and lamb and both were excellent! I would post the picture but we finished everything. Also the only place that served the bread hot.

This was our second visit to Le Tournebievre and it was every bit as good as the first. Excellent service, great ambiance, beautiful food and a good selection of wines.

We had dinner here on a recommendation from someone who lived in the neighborhood and were not disappointed. Service was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She recommended a fantastic bottle of wine that they get from a local supplier that complemented our meal perfectly. The food was creative and delicious, the atmosphere is relaxed and homey. We had a wonderful meal... More

Favorable TripAdvisor reviews, and the closeness to our rental apartment, led us to make reservations at this unique establishment for our first evening meal in Paris. Our server spoke excellent English and was very amicable and helpful. The menu(carte) was short, but very unique in that it had fixed prices for each course. There was also a short selection of... Recommended by Trip Advisor and not a disappointment. Walked in off the street and friendly greeting. Asked for and was given vegetables instead if rice with tasty halibut fish well worth a try. Meredith

July 14 2016, A re-visit after a walk on Ile de St Louis, since we were there 3 years ago. The cafe was empty and we were not sure it was open since it was La Fete Nationale (Bastille Day). Our friendly waiter explained the restaurant has changed ownership six months prior. The quality and service has not suffered and... More

Description
On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within easy reach of Paris' most celebrated landmarks is Le Tournebièvre restaurant . The first thing that will undoubtedly strike you about the restaurant (formerly Le Rencard Gourmand) is the breathtaking view across the river. But quite apart from the fairytale setting, Le Tournebièvre is special in its own right. Its classic French bistro cuisine is hugely popular with locals so it provides a real Parisian experience, quite apart from the usual tourist-version of Parisian dining. The simple bistro interior is accompanied, in the summer months, with pavement dining under a wide, shady awning. The traditional French menu is created using fine, seasonal ingredients, with a wide choice for all tastes. And, sacre bleu, the service at Le Tournebièvre is both professional and genuinely friendly.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
