I always go there at least once when I visit Paris. Value for money is very good and the stff are lovely. I particularly love the gesier salad.

I ordered Penne all'arrabiata in this restaurant. They were completely overcooked, no bite at all. Furthermore, there was nothing "arrabiata" about it, more like babyfood. No taste at all. All the salt, pepper, parmesan cheese in the world could not save this dish. And when one part of the food is hot and another part is cold, then we can... More

Server assumed we were American, seated us at the back of the restaurant away from everyone else, wouldn't talk to us or look at us and chucked our menus at us on the table. I was furious and wanted to leave but we were in a hurry so we stuck it out. He warmed a little, but the guy was... More

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighborhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
