After 10 miles of walking today we were tired, sore, and in need of something magical; our evening stroll from our flat brought us to this brilliant restaurant. The food is traditional and simply amazing, three courses for 26 Euros-salads, main course, desert. All three were impressive, three of us split all courses and could not believe the difference and... More

Terrific ambiance. Great service. Food was excellent. Loved the warm goat cheese profiteroles appetizer. Good selection of meat and fish entrees. Fixed price menu was a good value. Wine also reasonably priced. Would definitely return on next visit.

I hesitate to write this because this is a gorgeous little treasure - so please handle with care. We received a warm welcome and were shown to upstairs, laden with quirky decorations and filled with character. We had the 26 euro set menu - every course impressed, smooth sauces expertly seasoned. Perhaps the desserts underwhelmed just a touch but did... More

We read the reviews and came away agreeing with what the good reviews presented. A charming place, wonderful service, and the food was lovely. My only criticism would be the chicken liver paté, not great. My duck with figs yum and my wife had a steak with a cream au poivre like sauce I can't remember the name, but also... More

The food was very good and the waiter was very exact about our allergies and explained everything when the food arrived. The food was good and atmosphere was just amazing! There was also live music and it was really good, I just wish I knew French to understand the lyrics of the chanson :)

We had a all-round 10/10 experience at Le Connetable. Firstly the setting was lovely, a very old building with dark wood gave it a classically French feel, great round tables for larger parties, a very romantic feeling bathed in candle light. The atmosphere was great. Secondly the food was out of this world good, particularly the main courses. We had... More

It's not because it's in my street....this place has great food in the terrific ambiance of a 16th century house....try their steak with raspberry sauce and any of the oven-grilled sides that comes automatically with it and come back to me if I lied :)..They also have poetry evenings and lots of other events...but here you have to speak this... Nice location in the Marais with excellent wait staff. We had excellent first courses and wine selection. The main course, duck breast with a fruit sauce was good and well prepared, but it was not my favorite. My spouse did enjoy it.

My friend and I admittedly did a bad job of meal planning in Paris, and while looking for a place with available reservations on a Saturday night we came across Le Connetable in the Marais. The building itself dates back to the 1600s and was very charming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Ralph was so nice and hilarious!... More

To drink, squire! With such a name (the constable was a count charge of the royal stables) is expected to find a medieval tavern in the heart of the Marais. And indeed, it is not so far: this mansion of Cardinal de Retz is a living character with exposed beams, HQ night owls of all ages. During the day, the Constable shows a different face: that of a chic restaurant Marais. First we do not walk on it, the atmosphere is cozy, the older crowd and the room upstairs is open. In true French culinary tradition, the menu offers meat and fish sauce well (such as sliced turkey with porcini mushrooms) generously accompanied by fried potatoes with garlic and good structured wine. Here we love local products quality and taste rather than dietetics is favored. The addition is a bit salty, but still reasonable for the area.
