Good plat du jour and cool price (had a menu for 14Euros with coffee and nems as starter). All tender and tasty. Id come back again The only bad thing was the the waitress (one of them only) was not too nice.

I've been to this place probably 10 times and it has never disappointed me. The best time to go is when you can sit outside as the inside is rather small. Sitting on the patio and watching the evening unfold is a great experience. The place is quite French and rarely have I encountered too many tourists here. The food... More

Having determined by way of Tripadvisor that this place was worth going to, and staying in the Hapimag across the street, we used the Taverne for our first Parisian dinner. We were not disappointed. We shared a pate campagne, my wife had a marinated salmon and fruit salad, and I had the carpaccio of beef with greens. We shared a... More

We stayed across the street and I remembered this place from several years ago. The terras was still full (but a table for two for a late dinner without reservation was no problem) promising it would still be good. And it was! Simple but well prepaired French food (my boyfriend had their burger, myself the duck breast, both very tasty)... More

We stayed right opposite this joint and watched it's vibrancy unfold on its dining & drinking sides each day & night. I decided on saving their Cote d'beuf as my last meal before flying out of Paris. It was well worth the wait. Huge portion for a great price, delicious delicious delicious meat, the 'frittes' (dauphinois) were a total winner... More

My wife and I both love the traditional; French potato dish, gratin dauphinois! We searched the web and found this place which was near our hotel. The potatoes where excellent, but the steak it came with was one of the worst I've ever received. I ordered the rib eye steak, but the cut received was far from the rib eyes... More

We found this place by chance, just walking around the back streets near the Louvre. It turned out to be a good choice, there were several French 'locals' having lunch when we went in (always a good sign). We had an excellent meal, the coffee was good as was the service and the price was very reasonable. I'd go again... More

The best food in Paris hands down, after 3 nights of rubbish over priced food across Paris we decided to widen our reach, we originally was looking for a different restaurant that we had seen on trip advisor and then stumbled across this lovely little place. Not far from the Louvre museum and metro this gorgeous little French restaurant is... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
