We stayed right opposite this joint and watched it's vibrancy unfold on its dining & drinking sides each day & night. I decided on saving their Cote d'beuf as my last meal before flying out of Paris. It was well worth the wait. Huge portion for a great price, delicious delicious delicious meat, the 'frittes' (dauphinois) were a total winner... More

My wife and I both love the traditional; French potato dish, gratin dauphinois! We searched the web and found this place which was near our hotel. The potatoes where excellent, but the steak it came with was one of the worst I've ever received. I ordered the rib eye steak, but the cut received was far from the rib eyes... More

We found this place by chance, just walking around the back streets near the Louvre. It turned out to be a good choice, there were several French 'locals' having lunch when we went in (always a good sign). We had an excellent meal, the coffee was good as was the service and the price was very reasonable. I'd go again... More

The best food in Paris hands down, after 3 nights of rubbish over priced food across Paris we decided to widen our reach, we originally was looking for a different restaurant that we had seen on trip advisor and then stumbled across this lovely little place. Not far from the Louvre museum and metro this gorgeous little French restaurant is... More

One of the few bars/restaurants that actually have something for a vegetarian. The veggie burger was very good. Reasonable prices, friendly staff

We came here for dinner at 10pm on Friday. At first we were concerned that it was quite empty and most people were having drinks on the patio. Our waitress offered us an English menu on chalkboard knowing that only one of us understand French. We ordered rib steak (cote de boeuf) and duck breast. When the rib steak came,... More

My husband and I ate lunch here after a long overnight flight from Atlanta. Tired and irritable, we still enjoyed our visit. He had a large salad with lettuces, tomato, ham, mushrooms, apple, vinegarette dressing, and I had a penne pasta with a spicy tomato cheese dressing and black olives. Both were delicious. With bread, two glasses of wine each,... More

We have just had the dish of the day, which was perch with a tomato and basil sauce with spaghetti. It cost 11 euros and was very tasty. Friendly staff.

Friends recommended this taverne as my husband and I were staying nearby. So glad we found time to eat there. In an area dense with bistros and restaurants, we found the food there better than upmarket options.the lamb shanks were simple but so delicious. Good quick and caring service too.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
