We came across this restaurant by mistake, it was the best mistake we made! This place is a nice, cool, quiet place for dinner or a snack with friends. The food is incredible! Must try the inhouse backed bread. The french menu is hand-written on a black board, it probably changes all the time according to seasonal ingredients. Notice: There... More

Arrived late into Paris and got to the hotel just before 2200. Asked at reception where was good to eat locally and we were recommended this place. What a recommendation! We arrived at 2215 and was told there was a 20min wait. It was obviously a locals kind of place so we waited. We were not disappointed. Staff excellent, food... More

We come to this place every year with friends for a reunion and the standard of food, wine and service is consistently excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will return at the first opportunity.

Waiters are not very welcoming and the food is mediocre. Caviar d'aubergine and gambas with guacamole as a starter were ok but disappointing compared to the very good comments. The meat quality is good. There are just two sides to choose from and the mashed potatoes don't have much taste. Altogether there are many places with a far better price-quality... More

Recommendation came from staff at Hotel Gustave and we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent and we had an very helpful and friendly server...everything we ordered was delicious...if you love pork dishes, or even if you don't, you will love the food at this restaurant.

We had very simple food but it was cooked just perfectly: grilled pig ears, pate de boudin as appetizers, then grilled dorade and lamb chops as plats principaux. Everything was made 'just right,' not overspiced but not bland either, served at the right temperature. Their house red (I picked one of the two by random) was very, very good. Service... More

Fantastic French food. Service was excellent considering the menu was in French and we only speak English. The waitress explained everything on the menu well. Their signature pork dish was so tasty and cooked perfectly. We decided on dessert and ordered the fruit salad which was the best I had in Europe. We also shared the chocolate tart, perfect to... We ate here 2 times because the food and the experience were exceptional. The wait staff does not speak much English and the menu is written on a black board and is hard to read so bring your food dictionary. There was an excellent selection of entrees. We chose razor clams after we talked to the French couple sitting next... More

My boyfriend and I were in our first time ever in Paris. We stayed at the Hotel Apollon Montparnasse and they have a book where other clients write about their opiniones of best places in Paris. We saw La Cantine Du Troquet in it and decided to try it because it was near the hotel. We were absolutely pleased with... More
