As a weary American in Paris, I was becoming shy in my interactions w/the french. A few brush offs just for being American, many ignored attempts to land a table, a pretense of not understanding me or correcting my perfectly good Musee Louve. I walked...into L’Envue expecting the same, my waiter spoke excellent english, was happy to seat, serve and so very friendly. The fact that the food is also outstanding was a plus! They had me at hello.....More

From the outside we were attracted to the nice decor and the fact that it was busy. Once inside we realised that the place was in dire need of refurbishment especially the upholstered chairs which were clearly worn and dirty. The service was also not consistent...and we had to make an effort to catch the staff attention to get served. Staff were friendly once they came to the table. We had fois gras for starters which was good. We followed this with boeuf bourguignon which was very tasty but the meat was not lean which meant that my friend could not eat it. All in all it was an expensive meal for what we ate.More

Nice little French restaurant, bistrot style, with friendly service. Tasty salads for lunch. Prices standard for this posh area of Paris.

Wow ... this place is quite hidden in Paris but the food and wine is amazing. We had the charcuterie and the different take on croque monsieur along with the Beaujolais. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in Paris!

This place is a ‘secret’ that needs to get out. Their beef bourguignon is to die for - putting Julia Child’s recipe in her iconic Mastering the Art of French Cooking so much to shame I went back a second night to have it again,...with hubby ordering the same this time (yes, his chicken dish was yummy that first night but my beef dish was out of this world). The must try dessert is their selection of cheeses... the blue is almost on par with the absolutely divine St Agur and it, along with France’s favourite cheese, goes oh some wonderfully with the accompanying honey, thanks to the savoury after taste of both cheeses. Their high mountain smoked Swiss cheese has a sweetness that goes perfectly with the umami dressing with which the accompanying salad is tossed in. And the service is spot on. They offered us more than half a litre of our choice of red wine FOC as that was what was left in the bottle. When I asked to taste 2 digestifs, they offered my hubby a generous complimentary tasting glass of the digestif I didn’t choose as he’d liked it better on TOP of the wine of his choice to go with the cheeses. And when I asked if the secret to their delicious umami salad dressing was due to an addition of stock, the waiter, after checking with Chef, confirmed it was so and complimented me as he himself would never have guessed it. The second dinner here was such a great way to spend our last night in Paris (after 11 nights here) - we would gladly do it again when we visit this city for lovers yet again, over a meal at the Effel Tower and on a cruise down the River Seine.More

This place was very close to our hotel so we decided to try it out. We were greeted warmly by the head waiter and seated immediately. The place has a great ambience, dark and cosy yet elegant. Our waiter was very helpful, courteous and friendly...and anticipated our needs. The food was very good. My husband had the French onion soup which was a generous serving so he shared some with me. We were both impressed at how delicious it was. The soup was fresh and not at all salty like we expected and the cheese croute was delicious. Lots of caramelised onions at the bottom and some fresh crusty baguette served on the side. We both had the cod dish which was perfect. The wine which was recommended with this dish was really good too - fruity and light - delicious. There are various side dish options if you are very hungry but we didn’t need this. I highly recommend this place. Very tasty, well-presented food.More

Popped in here for lunch. Arrived around about noon, so restaurant fairly quiet but soon the tables near us began to fill up. Ordered drinks and our choice of meals. These all arrived fairly quickly. One person had opted for a steak which proved to...be lovely and tender at one end but extremely tough at the other. Everyone else was happy with their choice. The staff were pleasant and helpful.More

We walked into this restaurant based on excellent reviews we had heard online, we had to try this place out. We walked in, we ordered our food, and we began to wait. I was carrying a small bottle of Evian with me, which I decided...to take a zip out of, since I was thirsty. The moment I did, a Spanish speaking bartender yelled at me from across the restaurant that I’m at a restaurant and I’m not allowed to drink water. Since I was really hungry and haven’t had food at all that day (it was 12:30 already, hotel buffet closed at 11 which was when I woke up) I decided to take another zip, since our drinks still haven’t arrived. He walks up to our table, tells us what we wanted to order in a rude tone. Since we felt a negative vibe from this Spanish speaking bartender, we took our bags and told him we would leave, which he yelled in a fluent Spanish “if you are not going to order then leave, we don’t want you here, take your bottle with you, go on leave, hurry up we don’t need you here” followed by other nonsense I prefer not to write. We had already ordered food, and we really felt like his choice to kick us out in that tone was no way to speak to a paying customer. We highly recommend you take your business to restaurants like Laduree, or literally any other cafe or restraint, which we have had no problem drinking our own water there.More

Well this is the second time I’ve been here in Paris. I am not a tourist from the States. I was here for my wife for business. Well if you are searching for a great restaurant whenever you are in the French government district, near...the presidential palace and the department of interior. I would recommend this place, yes it is a little walking distance from the department of interior. But hey it’s worth the step! My wife and I were looking for something that wasn’t too expensive and the area is loaded with Chinese and Japanese food restaurants. Yes there were some good ones that were interesting. But we wanted to go to a good French restaurant. Well we found this place! For a good price. And great service and great food! I had the French filet steak rare(yes it was perfectly rare)and my wife had ratatouille. The fries are outstanding! The desert was also amazing! Yes we live here in France! So please try this place! You will not be disappointed!!!!More
